getting rid of old incompleteable quest(s)

Hi, I have been away from the game for a long time and have at least one old quest on several of my characters that I am not able to rid myself of.
It is 'The lost expedition' and it seems to be a leaguespecific quest (excavation). It is marked for Act 6. Not to be confused with 'Unearthing the past' which works and has been completed, as recently as my run on RWG (75+). There just does not seem to be any way to do this old quest any longer and I would like help to get rid of that quest overlay clutter. Please advise or "just" delete that particular quest from my older characters. Last bumped on Apr 1, 2023, 3:30:38 PM

thats the search for texts right?
if so there are ALOT of them, just keep clicking them in logbooks and it will eventually complete. |

It is about texts, yes, whatever and wherever they are. (and I remind you the relevant league is over)
Let me elaborate a bit more. I have been running up and down act 6 nodes (which is where the quest is in) looking for sites and not getting any - that is, since I have nothing else to go on, I have been chasing those place-explosive-make-boom sites in the act where the quest comes up on the overlay - and not even getting those boom-sites. At least, not after completing the other one: 'Unearthing the past' (also act6). I do not even have a clue what you mean when you say logbooks. Looking at the wiki they are a maps-only drop, from 8% chance to get excavations. Not sure how this helps for a act6 quest. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Expedition https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Expedition_Logbook If that list of dropsites is correct, most of those maps are not even in the atlas currently or somewhere beyond the tiers that I have uncovered. Which is a bad deal for a old act6 quest from a time when those sites were everywhere. And I say this as someone who has gone to the trouble of getting a Runic swordguy specter from a excavationsite after that league went away. Trust me, I've seen those sites and run an annoying amount of them, just for that purpose. Much easier to get a tanky cave freak from delve, but what are you going to do, that runic one has a neat sword move and is not so awfully annoying on the noise side of things. After some googling, apparently I am not the only one with this. And noone has a straight answer for doing it in the act it is marked on. One must somehow get these mythical logbooks, that are apparently a rare resource from a rare encounter, in maps only (not from excavations in acts) most of which (if the wiki is right) are not even on the atlas at the moment, in the hopes that one of those logbooks will drop a text. Some of those maps are supposedly coming back next league, but until then it seems completely fubar sol. Expedition can show up randomly on any map, especially if you spec into the Atlas tree.
Or You can buy a logbook and run them to get the ancient texts. Act 6 will do nothing for you. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

" logbooks start dropping in area level 45+ zones from expedition encounters found in them(zone you are in is irrelevant), it is not a map exclusive drop, the quest can be completed as long as you do enough of them but there is no point bothering trying to rush it. its marked as an act 6 quest because act 6 is where you encounter expedition for the first time and is where the NPC's hang out. ~signed an expedition rog bro |
