Trying it out on CraftOfExile's emulator also shows that the metamod doesn't protect the prefixes, so it seems like it could have been a lot worse.

"Add a new Critical modifier and remove another random modifier from a non-influenced item"
Nothing about blocking attack mods from rolling protects any of your existing mods from getting wrecked by this. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" It should protect it by player testing, which is stated in the wiki (unsure after change to Lifeforce the behavior changed again or not) It is not well clear the item before and item status after the craft Which i interpret as in general, someone want crit multi, does not want crit chance, but after crafting, he still get crit chance This interaction quite likely due to the craft remove metamod first, so that the adding mod no longer protect by metamod "cannot roll attack" This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. What almost certainly happened is that it did indeed add the crit multi he desired, and then removed his crit chance. Ideally it would have removed the metamod. But it could have also removed any of his t1 phys mods. So he still got lucky, tbh.
The wiki notes for "Cannot roll" describing how to force mods with it is pretty convoluted. But nowhere does it say your previous mods will be protected. Because that's not what it does. His chosen mod prevents new attack mods from rolling, and that's it. The harvest craft is going to add a crit mod and remove a random one of from any of the other mods on the item. Unfortunately for him, the metamod was the only undesirable mod, and it's not the one that was chosen for removal. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

OP, I completely agree that this is unexpected behaviour.
" You are wrong about this. The 'cannot roll' mods do protect against removal by Annulment orbs. If OP had crafted Cannot roll Attack and annuled, it would have removed the craft every single time. Either this is intended and meant to nerf Harvest power even further, or it's a bug. I think you should post it on the bug forums to get some clarification. |

"Yep, Annulment orb itself still works that way. Harvest add mod + "annul" crafts, at least as they exist now, definitely don't. None of them do. They respect cannot be changed meta and they respect the cannot roll types themselves. But they ignore cannot roll in terms of protection of corresponding mods from removal. Whether they're intended to work differently from Annul Orb is a different issue. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German. Last edited by aggromagnet#5565 on Mar 14, 2023, 1:48:22 AM

"This is a matter of perspective. This is unexpected behaviour if you know that Orb of Annulment respects "cannot roll" metamods. But in the opposite case, if you know that the removal part of Harvest's Augment/Removal craft doesn't respect "cannot roll" metamods, you would expect that Orb of Annulment also doesn't respect them. There's no rule of thumb (but instead a bunch of local rules/exceptions) or some logic based on which you can figure out how different crafting tools interact with metamods. GGG are pretty silent on this, they make changes sometimes and players never know is a new interaction intended or bugged. The truth is unreachable in this case, so reports and discussions are pointless. The only thing we can do is test and list all the interactions. The good news is they're already listed in this spreadsheet. |

" It is rather remarkable how little they say on some issues despite posting at least once a (week)day. Especially given how many of their posts feel distinctly like filler material. |
