Weird graphics card issue older AMD card.
Hey guys. I would like to know if anyone experience weird behavior on older AMD cards. Every few days while Playing POE my pc would freeze and when I reset it, it uninstalled my graphics driver. My GPU is an Rx470 platinum edition. I am using an older pc for now. My fast pc are parked for much needed upgrades.
I run it in vulkan as dx 12 tend to be slower on older AMD cards. I have the latest drivers installed. I have pulled my hardware log and it doesn't give any errors. I did stress test my gpu and it runs fine. I ran heaven benchmark( if there is something wrong with the gpu heaven won't finish ) I did try older drivers. Still the same results. POE is the only game that does this.I use to run the standalone POE client but my personal opinion it's not as good as the steam version. My gpu are not overclocked. I did undervolt it and it did the same. Man it's driving me nuts. This only happens with POE any other game is fine. I am not much of a gamer reason why I don't mind the slower pc ( I am IT + Web Developer ). I did try other games it worked fine but I did not test it as much as POE. Still if it was my hardware I would have picked it up. If anyone has the same experience I would love to know :D. Last bumped on Mar 12, 2023, 2:28:15 PM

" Do you mean that you overvolted it? Undervolting would be a strange step to take to increase stability. If it doesn’t have enough power to run by default, how is giving it less power going to improve the situation? Either that, or leaving the voltage alone and downclocking the card would make sense. One means more power, same workload; the other, same power, reduced workload. Reducing the voltage is always going to risk (more) stability problems. It can have certain other advantages such as lowering the temperature, but it’s not the step to take here. |
