Question to pro . How do poison dps feel compare to other non dot dps ?

You need better defenses to use dot damage as main, poison or not. Poe is all about killing everything before it kills you, and dot is always slower than opening crit obliteration move. If you are not very tanky, you will often experience stutters during mapping, having to kite 1-2 sec until poison fully kicks in.

4m could be a problem because poison builds are mostly POB warriors whereby they do zdps without ramp up, wither stacks, and what not.

On the other hand, 20m is plenty. I don't know which content you are trying to attempt but if you are still having issues with 20m, POB warrior mode or not, then even hit-based builds would struggle with such content!

Pure poison builds have big problem when encountering "chaos and wither resistant" on something like busted essence or league content mob. Lack of chaos res penetration mechanic and despair curse nerf make it harder to adapt to everything.

Poison is currently busted due to temp chains, ignoring that as it'll probably get fixed its OK but not great.

Tends to scale really well once you tick all the boxes as you get an extra scaler over ignite (application speed), ticking all those boxes however is a nuisance and it always looks better on paper than in reality.

Like all chaos builds being held hostage by wither holds it back, wither is honestly bad for the game and should have been addressed years ago its a ridiculous mandatory mechanic for an archetype.

Obviously once you get to high investment DoT falls off compared to just straight hit builds so it does depend on what area of investment you are looking at OP as to how it compares.

Poison Srs blows regular srs away in terms of dps per cost of gear.
Poison TS isn't that much better then ele TS.

So it really depends on the skill your going to be using to posion.
