Gauntlet too easy increase game difficulty

I quit after ritual, because I didn't want to start back again like it was when I started, (rampage league) and assumed it would be as you say. I remade (with a few adjustments) my old golem necro build, just to see how it would fare.

I am running around now with a bunch of empty sockets, and not even cursing or anything. and basically, walking through the content. (I did die to a freeze corpse explosion strongbox, because I got overconfident) but other than that easy-peasy, and I am a below average player.

Granted I am using quite a bit of legacy, but that's what standard is for, and it is by no means difficult.

The very end game is always going to be a challenge, and it should be, but the journey is not that difficult.

I think you just not yet test enough. Try run maps with at least one damage affixes (extra elem damage, increased crit...), if you're lucky enough, you'd probably got oneshot several times by AN's modded mobs with no map damage affixes.

Try red or blue bosses influenced maps, try heist, try harvest, try expedition.... They're totally different from normal contents. some harvest mobs still oneshot my heavy defensed character.

Some of my chars could run 3 damage affixes maps before, but now even I upgrade them, I still re-roll to prevent damage affixes, due to too many oneshots.

try getting 50/50 block with versatile combatant and %life on block shield. spell suppress cap also helps a ton but its not enough. you can try elevore too if you can max ailment avoid and if you`ve maxed spell suppress for total of something like 450hp on block combined with shield. once league ends you can incorporate some legacy loreweave with eternal damnation.

but yeah in general game feels twice as unforgiving to what it used to be. chris gave you superior defences but buffed mobs to ridiculous levels.
