yeah but how does the game know which u want?
say i have a foiled shield thats got the green shimmery foil thing, and ive got a crusader influenced shield with blood all over it and lightning effects, if i skin one on the other i lose one of the effects right? either way i lose one, either it takes the effects of the item im wearing or the item im using as a skin.
so which do i lose? how does the game tell which effect i want to keep?
see what im saying?
i think theyve just made a decision of ok, it has to be one or the other so we are going with the effects of the item ur wearing stay and get put on to the item skin ur transferring on.
if they did it the other way around ud lose the effect in all the situations where ur wearing a piece with an effect and skinning over something without one.
foil is an exception in that all the other effects are there because of the sort of item it is, those effects are a reflection of the special mods on the item, and its the item with its mods that are effecting you that the game is prioritising the effect from. if u have a crusader chest with crusader mods effecting ur character the crusader effect is whats kept, not the shaper effect that the skin u were using had. u see what im saying? if u have to pick one or the other, theres some kind of sense to keeping the effects of the item which is actually effecting you, rather than the skin?
i know thats a sort of blanket policy that leaves a situation where u have a foil item u wanna use as a skin onto an item with no effect of its own and its just a straight up loss right? in that one particular case the policy is bad, but it might just be a case where the way its programmed it either has to take the effect from one or the other and it cant make an exception for that one instance.
i would like it to keep the foil too, in the instances when im putting a foil onto a non foil that im wearing. but i also want to keep the foil when im wearing a foil and skinning a plain item on top xD maybe that is possible somehow, i dunno. just putting food for thought out there cause the devs will have read this but its unlikely they will respond.
