"snipes you on death" is neither fun nor a challenge

"i would say molten shell and the glowing orb that chases you are QUITE obvious, if you die to them often, you probably should start learning to dodge the mechanics."
Briefs well until you are using fire skills then they get camouflaged and nuke you. So now the answer is? Don't use holy flame totem? or buy the green MTX? Of course the purple skills suck... that is 90 percent of GGG's MTX's (Crystal Earthquake probably being the worst...) I have not played for a very long time but I'm already not liking what GGG has done to the game and I'm only level 50. Last edited by Jerrec_Novus#3523 on Feb 10, 2023, 5:00:29 PM

I was very glad when Archnemesis was shelved, or so I thought.
Turns out it has mostly just been rebranded and slightly postponed. Levelling a character is better in Sanctum than it was in Archnemesis but once you finish act 10 and hit mapping "dev mode" where everything is about twiddling with the RNG knobs, the same problem returns full force: you are no longer fighting monsters with specific monster skills and abilities, you are fighting mods. It could be an undead warrior or a slimy blob of slime or a fire elemental or a demon from another plane, doesn't matter, what matters is that it's chucking the same ice walls and homing poison orbs as every other mob in the game. Being one-shotted by homing orbs with exponential acceleration that can't even be seen in a busy fight is not fun. Being one-shotted by a lightning totem that spawns underneath you so you can't even see it is not fun. Being one-shotted by stepping on a piece of ground with a damage-over-time effect that you can't even see because of corpses is not fun. I really hope that POE2 is a slower game where monsters keep their individual themes and characteristics and there are counters for everything that require a strategy beyond Ritalin-fuelled warping around the screen. |
