Is it just me or does headhunter feel underwhelming?

Hi,
I'm very amazed as to how weak headhunter has become after both the nerfs to non-stacking buffs when AN got introduced and the culling of the AN removal. This together resulted in headhunter being a very weak and maybe even alot worse than previously expected of a belt with that caliber.

Iirc, Chris Wilson mentioned that they as a team are not interested in nerfing Headhunter due to it's history and how it's a staple Path of Exile item. But this league the headhunter has been very bad to actually utilize.

A little background as to what I've tried to do this league with it. I've been one of the 5way carries that should potentially scale the best on the different buffs and increases the headhunter gives. And yes, while headhunter gives alot of utility and survivability in 5ways. It still feels lackluster in all other content.
One of the reasons for Headhunter being worth using in a carry scenario is due to being able to sustain 60-ish buffs at all times. and that'll put me on a 5m avg. tooltip DPS.
Meanwhile I did do 5way carries in Sentinel aswell, weaker setup, less upgrades, triple the dmg. => This feels sorta bad, but makes sense that carry builds shouldn't be in-expensive to make.
That being said.

I found myself swapping to a rare synth belt more often than not in mapping since it worked alot better in normal mapping than an actual hh, this is insane to me.
Only way it was possible for me to recieve an actual feasible and sustainable dmg ramp was if I went ALL OUT on juicing the maps, which is kinda fun but it's far far too risky since there's so few buffs to gather before you just get randomly oneshot since the HH buffs are so weak.

If there's an actual discussion on this, I would like to be directed to it, I've not been able to find conversations about this topic, and feel like it's sad to see HH get the hammer on top of the removal of Mantra of Flames. if Mantra was still in the game this issue would probably also be smaller to some extend.

New HH is pretty underwhelming vs the original like not even a contest but hey it's still sorta fun

AN HH was better at defensive buffs than offensive ones, but that's hardly why you get the belt for.

But no, it's not underwhelming because you can't even compare how strong it was to what it is now.
