Ghost Reaver not working with leech flasks

Greetings,
Forgive me as I may not be correct in my assumption. I took the Ghost Reaver node which states that I will leech energy shield instead of life. I take this as all life leech is converted to energy shield leech. Is this a correct assumption? If so, I crafted flasks that state, 15% of damage taken from hits is leeched as life, which I believed should then be converted to energy shield leech; however, I am not leeching the energy shield from the flasks. I had assumed that since ghost reaver is converting my life leech to energy shield leech, these flasks should be leeching for my energy shield, yet they are not working. Please educate me if I am incorrect in this, otherwise, please fix this. Thank you for your time in this matter. Last bumped on Dec 10, 2023, 11:08:32 AM

I don't see why Ghost Reaver wouldn't work with such flasks.
Do you continue to leech Life with this flask and Ghost Reaver? If not, do you expect that "973% increased total Recovery per second from Life Leech" from your belt should affect ES leech? If yes, you probably just don't notice ES you're leeching. |

(Assuming your Level 70 Elementalist and the Ruby flask?)
How much life leech do you have? Your belt give you leech from Attack damage, which should not give you anything as you have no Attacks. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

The flask is just a ruby flask with 15% of damage taken from hits is leeched as life. I am not wearing the belt for the % leech from attacks. I am wearing the belt because of the raw increase to life and mana leech. Since Ghost Reaver is converting life leech to energy shield leech it gives me a big boost. The flask is not working as intended. If I take out Ghost Reaver and get hit while the flask is active I leech the 15% life from the hit. If I put in Ghost Reaver, I do not gain life or es from the leech. This appears to be a bug.

Disregard my lack of reading the belt properly.
I can only think that your flask is not recognized as a source of leech for Ghost Reaver. Perhaps it has to be damage that is done by you. GGG has a history of wording issues. Did you post this in the Bug forum? If you did and it was moved then it is not a bug, ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

"That's what I was getting to. Ghost Reaver makes you leech ES instead of Life. ES leech is not affected by Life leech modifiers, Wurm's Molt won't boost your leech from Ghost Reaver. "I believe you properly leeches ES. But since you expect huge ES recovery from leeching, you just don't notice the actual tiny ES recovery. Moreover you're constatly taking damage to ES thanks to the rings. |

Forgive my ignorance but you say that life leech modifiers do not affect ES leech; however, the purpose of Ghost Reaver is to convert life leech to ES leech correct? The leech numbers change for my ES when I remove the belt. This shows me that it is converting the life leech to ES leech. The whole purpose of Ghost Reaver is that it converts all life leech to energy shield leech. I am not sure where I am going wrong with this. I did have this originally posted as a bug but it was moved here. I appreciate the information though. Thank you.
