Sanctum Review Poll

Don't like it also. Past leagues (I play since metamorph) I could do the league mechanic during acts and finish a "run", now it is for me impossible. Made it now 1 time till end of 2e floor.
Still only garbage relics, found with almost every day playing several hours only 1 divine orb. Drops are in general quite low and have to do chaos recipe for getting a little bit currency at all. Totally not rewarding to play this league.
Live your Life. Love your Life.
they need to treat sanctum just like other mechanics: incursion temple, betrayal, even *gasp* FUKN LAKE OF KALANDRA

no reason to make things harder for us. Let us save rooms until the end, and save the layout so another character can run it.

If you are worried about trading, make the fukn things soulbound, I dont care. Thing is, most good mappers make shit sanctum runner, and vice versa.

This is the most annoying part. You wanna shove and make POE to feel like SSF and HC by forcing us running soulbound shit and resolve, it's OK, I can take that. But FORCING US TO RUN EACH SANCTUM BOUND TO A SPECIFIC CHARACTER is pure BS and toxic shit.

Its the worst league mechanic Ive seen.

You cant get interesting rewards, only currency. Which means unless you are trade its near worthless.

It insanely favor ranged builds, and is trash for melee.

It is minimal to no experience (find exit).

Everything about it is antithetical to PoE (defenses matter zero, its begging you to go glass cannon ranged).

Its the worst league mechanic ever.

I think this sums it up pretty nicely.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
Worst league mechanic ever for sure. Base game is great and I am still playing with the awesome new Atlas Passives and abundant scarabs. I have not run a Sanctum since around day 3-4 after waiting to see if GGG would do anything.

Great and unique league.
I love that they finally add a mechanic based on skill and knowledge rather than face tanking stuff as usual.
By far one of the better leagues and content since a few leagues. AN didn't introduced much into the game, sentinel was just full juice map mode, Kalandra was just base game content all over again. Sanctum came with something new so that's a nice change for once.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

I thought Sanctum was neat.

I'm just curious about how others feel about the current league. Made a Poll. Feel free to use it or post your thoughts. Do you enjoy it? Not enjoy it? Why or why not?

I didn't like it. I play it a bit, but league mechanic is dead for me.

The main reason why - it encourages fast glass cannon playstyle. This league is fun if you can 1shot guards, but if your character does lower dps - it's a miserable league. One of the worst for me for this reason. The only full sanctum I did was while leveling in acts with a fully geared character - where I was simply 1shotting guards and bosses. If you can replicate this on 80+ - maybe you can enjoy it.. :)

The only league I noped as hard as Sanctum was Ultimatum, for similar reasons, but I think Sanctum is much worse.

Implementing leagues where entire archetypes can barely do the mechanics is really dumb. Melee is already bad and struggles, so introducing a league where its penalized heavily and needs to be massively overgeared to run it makes it pointless.

Resolve was a terrible, terrible idea with POE's framework. It would work for other, more mechanical games, but not a lootsplosion and ability spam fastrunner like POE.
Personally, I like the league mechanic, I would appreciate if we could save 32 rooms to run the whole thing at once. And if we could save the rooms with one character, and run the sanctum with another.

The thing I hate most about sanctums is the blink-strike guard that can one-shot you from offscreen (damage goes trough resolve). Basically you don't need defenses until some guard insta-kills you out of the blue. I rolled like 5 builds this league, to decide that the best for sanctums was the one that can actually tank.
Short answer: 6/10

I found the actual sanctums this league to be quite underwhelming. Not because you couldn't get loot but because I prefer item/crafting mechanics far more than raw currency mechanics (especially those that don't take 40 maps to complete 1 run).

The core game changes were great, it actually made the game playable again after the last few runs of Arch nemesis that ruined it completely for casuals like me.

If the actual sanctum offered more than just stacked decks/chaos/divines I might have done it more often. The relics are nice but being untradable really annoyed me because it was a direct forcing of players to use the mechanic or have no benefit of it at all. That's really counter intuitive of the entire point of being able to target farm other things from other mechanics.

To be fair, I haven't enjoyed the game as much as I did with harvest. I am not nearly as skilled as other players with the ability to craft such intense gear and farm all end game bosses. I grant it was incredibly over powered so I at least understand some of the nerfs but it's been a little too much for me to "enjoy". I don't think the game needs to continue making it harder and harder to get to the end game; all that does is discourage players with less skill from even trying. Don't make it Diablo 3 level of easy by any means but find a nice middle ground.
