6-Links cost too much to build

In all the time I've spent in the game, I've never been able to get 1200 links before the season ends. This season I'm probably playing more than I ever have. I've done the T16 maps and am running higher content I've never done before. And I still am about 2/3 to getting enough orbs to 6-link.

Is there a REAL gameplay reason this is so expensive and out of reach of causals completely? I find it a bit insane it takes so long for one single thing.

I was able to brute force two 6-link armors by converting lesser currency into fusing orbs and then paying the 1500. Spamming fusing orbs one at a time can work (and I have done so in the past), but I had about enough to get it done using the bench this league. I usually get about 3-4K fusing orbs during a normal league.

If you try to farm fusing orbs directly, Searing Exarch altars can grant them (chaos orbs too), which was a godsend in SSF. It does block you from Eater of Worlds altars that can grant divine orbs, though, so choose carefully. Otherwise it's a matter of running red maps and other level 80+ content to get drops.

yeah its silly, given how easy 6 links are to obtain by other means.

If it's a unique that you're trying to 6 link, i'd suggest corrupting/double corrupting it and then using tainted fusings. Much easier that way

OP, are you making sure you have quality on your gear before attempting to 6L it? Quality improves the chance of getting 6S/6L. If you can get it >20% (with Syndicate) that's even better.

Other than that, I personally never used the bench craft recipe, always hit 6L from a couple hundred fuses at most.

1500 fusing is obscene. it might have been good when the game first started but now with the reliance of 6 links it should be lessened.

may be down to 500 or something.

If you play trade league you will get 1500 in no time.

Guess it might depend a little on the person/build, but you dont even need a 6 link for 4 void stones.

For beginners to the game it may be a bit different.

This is coming from someone who does use that recipe. I never risk it anymore if the gear will be a good fit or upgrade.

I would have loved it if, after making "try out new support gem combinations to customise your skills" a core attraction of the game design, GGG made it easy to do lots of that rather than hard.

Just sell to vendor 60 6L's, and you'll get your 1200 fusings!
