Monsters in Sanctum have 30% increased action speed. SO DO TRAPS
Logic
Since when are traps considered as "monsters"? Because ever since I got this 30% affliction the flamethrower traps sweep the entire room incredibly fast making it nigh impossible to dodge them. Last bumped on Jan 17, 2023, 10:32:25 AM

Why are you clicking or getting fiendish wings in the first place? It's all on you and only you sure there's RNG but that's in every rogue lite literally.

Ok, its on me thinking that traps =/= monsters. Its also on me thinking that 30% does nothing because monsters can't touch me even with it.

As far as i understood it there are Monsters, Guards, Bosses and Traps.
The terminology dictates that the monsters are the 4 usless zombies that are currently hugging a corner and die instantly if wind blows through the sanctum. Traps are definitely not monsters else you could "increase the damage you do against them by 5%" through relics. Similar to lab, where getting a particular shrine doesn´t disable the monsters too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8

Pretty sure monsters applies to bosses too. I've never seen something that says "bosses".

![]() Im pretty sure i cant kill the merchant or damage rooms with my current bias against bosses. If "monsters" are "bosses" we ("forumers") should classify it as a bug. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8 Last edited by Lachdanan#4036 on Jan 14, 2023, 8:46:12 AM

^^ Also:
The increased damage inflicted to resolve mod also seems to increase damage done to inspiration. I kinda figured I could run low resolve max inspiration but that failed pretty hard... For GGG usually being so pedantic on terminology, they seemingly have dropped the ball here. |

The use of the term "monsters" has always been a general thing that applies to everything. I look back to Expedition as an example, as the relics you destroy that give monsters extra loot quantity applies to runic monsters as well as bosses.
That being said, it's weird that traps fall under the category of monster and can thus take advantage of afflictions which make them faster. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

I've had the problem with the reverse as well. I got an affliction that increased the speed of traps (which I assumed would just be the Baran tiles, floor mines, and rolling balls, lasers those sorts of things) but it also increased the speed of guards.
