Unarmed Weapon MTX

I was doing my MTX for a hollowed palm character for leveling and wanted to add some of my weapon mtx to my "weapons" when i realize i don't have gloves so cant use glove mtx and wait no weapons but I'm unarmed. Why can't my fists radiate the MTX aura. I have some exotic legacy MTX skins and would have liked to use them during my run would have made my character look that much more enjoyable. I hope this isn't too big of a request.
