more like mana reservation efficiency of exile
It's been a problem since the Defense rework. They took away most of our alternate mitigation methods, Enduring Cry + Second Wind + Immotral Cry stacking, Dodge which was simply better than SS high end, Shield Block, Blind, etc so we'd have to rely on the base defenses.
While they made them work better they left in elemental pen, armor pen and added exposure recently just for fun I guess. So now we have to run at least 1 main defense aura to help counter map mods and rare mods then usually Vitality, Defiant Banner, Armor of Frost, etc. So they kinda don't work better and we're squishier than leading up to defense reworks. My most durable build was from Ultimatum with 1.4mil phys eHP, 900k Elemental eHP with massive recovery and didn't run a single defensive Aura. I only did 2.5mil DPS but that was the trade. The Auras I ran were a matter of flavor and choice for the build. Not mandatory. Comically after all of it Evasion is somehow even worse than before compared to Armor. " yeah not to mention flasks got totally shafted too. they used to be 3k for jade/granite, plus the new crafting options cut the duration in half on anything useful like yeah theres armour combinations and the aegis aura, but these things are so build limiting cutting into potential dps and item viability its no wonder people are playing the same 6 skills every season Last edited by Cchris07#7105 on Jan 7, 2023, 1:02:05 PM

" I understand what they were trying to do with flasks they just didn't do it right. They wanted flasks to be like a CD burn similar to Focus but the whole reason flask up-time became a problem in the first place was Enemy Density. Reducing the up-time of flasks is perfectly fine and a step in a good direction for the game IMO. Where they failed was removing Immunity and trying to replace it with this reactive immune and reduced effect of aliments. Those stats don't work on flasks. With the sheer amount of nonsense going on, no human can noticed they've been Shocked and react because it's measure in milliseconds. Even with this silly attempt we can still be aliment immune via gear or skills. They just did the same thing with Jewels. Yea, 100% reduced effect is very noticeable but those aren't the numbers we're getting and people don't wana spend 15 passives to get up to 70-100%. They cant hold Immune / 100% Avoidance in one hand then try to sell Reduced Effect. Esp when the reduced effect numbers require multiple sources. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

You do know you can configure your flasks to be used when you get shocked, right?

is this the "vision" that GGG wants for basically the majority of characters to need 100 auras and like 600% mana reservation efficiency. (except for apparently the one guy in this thread that is destroying Path of exile with a mysterious build)

" Yea, I do. I've just either been Shock immune or 100% Avoidance since the flasks changes. That's what I meant by trying to sell us something but still having superior options thus making it look like a sad nerf attempt instead of a step in the right direction. Even the build this league I played from day 1 to 8, I planned to get 32 + 42 Boots then Anoint Crystal Skin. Outside bows it's been a shield meta since 3.15, so just run Tempest Shield. Shock is really the only ailment to justify that reactive craft. Last league I didn't even run any anti-Frozen. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac
