Sanctum better go core
It's one of the most enjoyable league mechanics in the history of PoE (my opinion). So I really hope it goes core.
But it needs some tweaks before going core, like allowing storage of full sanctum and itemizing it (like temple). Also, the account bound stuff would need some tweaking or removed altogether. Last bumped on Feb 1, 2023, 6:50:36 AM

I agree. I haven't had this much fun with league mechanic in a while. It offers perfect blend of risk vs reward in my opinion. The meta relics are just a bonus, and not realy needed so even if they are removed, the rest of the gauntlet mechanic is still very fun.
The rewards hit the sweet spot even without them in my opinion. They wouldn't cause any huge imbalance in the game, I think, as we still have mechanics like Expedition and Heist which are more rewarding, yet still part of the core package. I know content bloat to be the issue. But on the other hand there are still old mechanics like Torment and Rogue Exiles chugging along, both of which I am personaly not so crazy about, and I have a suspicion I'm not alone. So if removing one of those would be the price to pay for Sanctum, I wouldn't mind it at all. Not to mention old vaal side areas which have been here since forever, could be easily modernized, by being worked in Alva's temple for example. As far as drasticaly overhauling the Sanctum to make sense, I don't think it would be necessary. As long as there are some atlas passives to support it, even if it dosen't appear every map, it could be mended by the ability that it could appear 2 times in a map from time to time (like with breach, you can have several in a map). This would still keep the sanctum completion at arround 32 - 40 maps in average for those who would spec into it. So there's no problem imo. Rooms could be itemized, but I don't think it's 100% requirement. End of the day, if it dosen't go core, so be it. I think it would be a shame, but at the same time there are a lot of other cool stuff on the horizon to keep me engaged I think. I will miss the Sanctum, that's for sure. |

HELL NO,. REMOVE IT,. Account bound feature's should not be in game,. League mechanic was rushed,. as per normal,. No thought behind it other than how to keep people playing for longer,. OH Add acount bound item's they can only get from spending hour's farming rubbish,. 1 map = 1 room in sanctum,. HAH imagion if that was how every mechanic worked,. imagion ultimatum but you pick your choice but you don't get to do it till next map,. Come on

That's the core problem here and a fundamental issue GGG has. They rarely give leagues that extra time they deserve. I personally don't enjoy this concept at all but yeah with some changes it could become something better. Synthesis had the same problem, really cool concept but it never got the extra time to rework things.
A lot of leagues don't see new things for years down the line. I mean Ultimatum was enjoyed by the community and is a easy mechanic to put in the game but it never went core, only a promise that they are working on it. Sentinel was another really fun mechanic for most but faded away. Recent history suggests this will not go core, too much work needed and not enough time with PoE 2 around the corner. I wouldn't be surprised though if PoE 2 will launch with big changes to the league mechanics and some of these come back all revamped in a new endgame along with new story. Would be a GGG thing to do to hype it up. |

I really like the idea of account bound items, I would actually like it if each current league had some type of version of this, but if that league mechanic goes core, get it out of there, otherwise it basically makes it "mandatory" to do it each new league start. |

I agree, make it core, it will take some work to make it a core mechanic though. Sanctified relics have to be adjusted in some way though. Maybe only having the invocation giving you a notable and not other mods or vice versa.

Absolutely not this mechanic don't fit with a Arpg.
Defensive/ slow slam build can't do it. It give a insane advantage for people playing glass canon. and even more for ranged build. |

Worst since i started playing. Its a really bad version of a good roguelike like hades.......

" Agreed, also its a copy and paste of hades with the monsters from heist with a coat of paint. They took a candle decoration and turned it into a real crappy boss. BEHOLD ! CANDLEBACK!
