Arcane Surge doesnt work with spells triggered by Cast on crit

Im not sure if this is an intended mechanic or not. If it is, the gems description doesnt relay that information and the gems "tooltip" would let you think otherwise because it shows as a green checkmark

If you are talking about your level 100 inquis he has eldritch battery so you are spending energy shield, not mana which means arcane surge never procs.

Bumping the thread, if possible.

Another example is the arcane surge given from surging/rippling thought. It does not apply to coc skills, nor life-costing skills (e.g. reap). Is this intended?

You have to spend mana to trigger arcane surge, not life or ES, even is life cost is not native but came from lifetap support. As for surging thoughts, storm cascade and harbinger summon don't have mana cost.
