Projectile Speed Aura and Curse

I was thinking there could be an aura for enemies that speeds up the projectiles of their allies and slows down the projectiles of players.

An alternate idea is to have the projectile speed be an aura and the reduced projectile speed be a curse. This method is probably more balanced for players since you would be giving up a damage curse for a defensive curse. It would also help to make manually dodging a slightly more reliable defensive method.

What if certain enemies could cast something that formed like a transparent colored dome around themselves, which would slow your projectiles to a CRAWL while those projectiles were inside the radius of the aura (but not before they entered or after they left)? It would be powerful, but of course would only last a few seconds and then have a cooldown time before it could be cast again.


Edit to say that I understand that something like this would take a lot more work than the original suggestion, but the original suggestion, which is awesome BTW, just got me thinking, hehe.

Looks good, but if they're planning to make this they should consider making one for attack speed aswell, to balance it out for melee characters.

Maybe one that slows time altogether, but the caster's party is immune to the effects?

Maybe Boss should have that slower projectile spell on, it would be much harder for Ranged classes to kill it.

what about the other way? Acceleration sphere projectile through that sphere gain significantly on speed.

I really liked this idea, we are living in a process where ranged classes are at more advantageous position compared to meleers, so slowed down projectiles would make sense in terms of balancing with difficulties where meleers been facing off quite more challenge for a long time.

Faster projectiles aura would seem harder in bigger ranger, if the arrow flies out of the aura AoE does this mean it goes back to it's original speed and what about if you use this aura with a faster projectile support gem?

more like it has increased speed even when it flies out, but it decreases to its original speed after some distance.

Faster projectile gem support would enhance it's initial velocity and original speed would be higher that way.

Fastening projectile might also mean +DMG for some projectiles (+physical damage) and maybe +pierce % since it's penetration is better.

If you put a projectile speed gem on lightning arrow and cast projectile weakness curse and have this aura "equipped" wouldn't the damage be huge?
If this aura would be introduced there should be a downside to it even it's a pretty big mana reserve.
