ggg always hated tank build .........
but with this league mechanic , they pushed the vice at god level ...

If you meaning an melee or close range build, i think they have a bit of a disadvantage but still playable

" They unplayable unless you are high dps, with stun and instant travel skill. The whole game can be played by tank builds, except this league. Again PoE is all about high dps, high mobility, and ranged only builds. They might as well call this Path of RangedClasses. |

Well it's possible to clear an entire Sanctum without a high damage build, even as melee. 2kk damage is already more than enough to get going once you obtained a few better relics and some practice with enemy attack patterns.
And in all honesty, it's not hard to achieve enough damage run the thing properly, unless you build an entire trash build fully focused on all possible defences nodes. It's a weird league mechanic this time but overall a good thing that you can't solve it by simply facetanking everything. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Hell, there are whole ascendancies built around mitigating damage, rather than avoiding it. I haven't really played the league mechanic yet as I league started a melee character and found it quite boring. I could probably list 20-30 mitigation mechanics this game offers, that you spec into, gear for, buy gear for, craft for and so on, just to have every single one of those mechanics ignored in the league mechanic. I don't think there's anything that could demotivate me more to play a league mechanic. What have I learned from Sanctum? That Roughelikes/Rouguelites aren't for me, which is totally OK. But I still wish that GGG would try harder to make your character/build choices - that is 'required' for the rest of the game - matter more in Sanctum. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Remind me of ultimatum league. Except there u could tank and walk in circles, here u can only walk in circles with totems or minions go brrrrrrr... yeah fun.

It's not that hard to dodge the simple patterns or attacks of the mobs. Even actual games of the genre encourage you to dodge shit rather than tanking everything fully. But it's just a skill issue to struggle with sanctum completion. But yea you build some defense anyways unless you want to get a one shot right into your face. Not a bad thing that movement gets rewarded for once. The facetank everything as immortal tank god and ramp with 500k dmg gameplay type is getting old man. Flames and madness. Melee will NEVER be balanced, if a melee player is supposed to dodge all of the same hits as a ranged character. It will NEVER be balanced if a melee player isn't supposed to be able to tank a few more hits than a ranged player can. Melee NEEDS more defenses, and it has nothing to do with laziness or lack of skill. It has to do about mechanics. In Sanctum, a melee player either has to DPS the boss down before the mechanics that "are so fun" even begin to matter, or he has to jump around like a frog - because taking a few hits can destroy your whole run. " Haha, nice one. Movement has always - and will always be rewarded. Disclaimer: I haven't tried the Sanctum after CQC characters "take even less damage" to their resolve change. To be honest i don't understand why they haven't build sanctum around your defense ... By that i mean a Juggernault with 110 k def shouldn't lose as much resolve as a ranged with 0, i do undertand why the regen would be impossible to balance but to ignore all defense ? Way to kick tank out of the league.
