my thoughts on Sanctum
For me and my casual play style Sanctum takes too long, in real life hours. It takes 32 maps for a perfect run, and thats assuming that you can make it past the first 2 floors consistently. Which I can't. I have gotten ZERO relic drops so far and I'm level 85 and did Sanctum consistently while leveling and in early maps.
At this point though I'm tapping out from the mechanic. It is just too soul crushing the amount of maps I have to run to even do 1 floor. For me a map usually takes 5-10 minutes so I am looking at over 1 hour of farming per floor unless I just run white throwaway maps and go Sanctum only. That however is massivlely unfun. Somethings that would make it more fun to me would be the following: Make rooms unlockable by keys that drop while playing maps. To guarantee one key per map we will introduce the Sanctimonious Strongbox. When clicking the strongbox you are granted reserve and have to fight some sanctum guards. Killing guards without losing all of your resolve you can get extra keys from the strongbox. Otherwise you just get one key when you kill all the guards. Now when you enter the sanctum you can keep going as long as you have keys to keep unlocking rooms. Other improvements would be making relics have a way higher drop chance early on. Obviously they shouldnt roll with the best stats but should be way more common. Maybe even introduce minor relics that give pretty small buffs that you can also get from the Sanctimonious Strongbox I mentioned above. Anyways, thanks for reading. R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E. Are you sure relics are enabled in your loot filter? I have played barely any sanctum (I hate it) and I have like 5 of them + one sanctified relic. They're really not rare.
