Will status ailments consider energy shield?

It seems really lame that anyone who goes CI or stacks ES gets stunned/shocked/frozen/burnt SO easily if they don't sacrifice half their gear slots for crap items to be immune.

Is this a planned feature? Have the devs ever commented on this?
status effects like shocked/frozen/burning are effected by your ES / resists

only stunn is the maga hit u take going CI and in a way not a bad trade off for choas immunity , though i do want some % ES put back on the node mabey not 50 % but something
Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

Wrong:

Even though CI users have 1 life, the duration of shocked/freeze/chill are still calculated based on the characters' original max HP (as if they didn't have CI).

From the wiki
"
The chance of being stunned and duration of status ailments is based on your base life before CI takes effect.

As you can see... anyone who has gone CI or stacked ES will have VERY little life before CI takes effect. This means status ailments last REALLY long and happen MUCH more frequently. Which is extremely deadly!

They still only happen on crits (or when you're cursed). Only stun happens more often.

No.... if you have low HP, you will get Shocked/Frozen/Chilled more frequently than someone who has higher HP. Status ailments such as Shock/Freeze/Chill are based on damage dealt versus maximum HP.

A 10000 HP Marauder will not get Shocked at all even if a monster crits him for 50 damage (below max HP).

Whereas, the same monster who crits for 50 damage will be able to Shock a 5000 HP Marauder (just enough to reach 1% threshold).

In order to get frozen or shocked, you do generally need to get crit. The duration is then calculated based off of your max hp.

I was replying to his claim that "Only stun happens more often" which is untrue.

Scoring a crit does not guarantee frozen/shocked. If the duration is less than 300ms, the status ailment is ignored entirely.

Wish I could get a dev response on this. IT just seems CI or build that stack ES will always get inherently gimped.
