Some Ruthless first impressions

Started Ruthless as a Witch, got to the Ship Graveyard so far (definitely not going to play all night). Some impressions:

1) Overall very fun! Reminds me of good old days.

2) Drops more abundant than expected. Got an amulet in Mud Flats and a rare helmet in the Lower Prison. Some currency, nothing better than an Orb of Alteration so far (though I'm gambling for an Alchemy at the end of this floor of the Sanctum). No rings or belts so far.

3) Loot filter will be needed, tempted to turn one on already. Too much useless white stuff around, not worth picking up unless superior - there are enough Identify Scrolls for the not so frequent magic items.

4) Movement skills: miss them not so much for fights, as for simply covering the distance. Predicting it being very boring later, though good boots with movement speed might help make it manageable.

5) Bosses: well, haven't fought too hard ones yet. Will let you know later.

6) League content: mixed feelings. Haven't managed to go past Room 3 yet, but that's to be expected. I managed to get Room 1 done without losing any resolve this last time (despite encountering this particular boss for the first time), so I'm guessing it'll get more productive soon. However, the slower pace needed to get it right is a bit boring even for me, and I think I have more patience than the average PoE player, so I'm expecting lots of negative feedback overall. Of course, we'll see what it's like in endgame.

7) Player names: Why the hell does everyone I ran into have "Ruthless" in their name? Come on, guys, some creativity, please. :)

P.S. Disclaimer: the character is on a different account I started just for Ruthless. Among other things, to see how long it'll be on Ruthless before I need more stash tabs. :D

Ruthless was really fun for me until I got to the Weaver. The problem for me is that while drop chances were tweaked, the rest of the game apparently was not.

Since the Weaver fight just spawns dozens of enemies every three to four seconds and applies a permanent movement malus to the player character (who has likely not near the AoE power to take on the mass of spawns - my skills especially have come from quest rewards only so far), this means that sooner or later, I get just so swamped in spiders that I cannot move any more.

There is just no way I see for either of my current builds (ice shot ranger and arc witch, so far) to progress - it's just a numerical impossibility due to significantly lower player power.

Oh well. It was kinda interesting to see how PoE has developed. Guess it's really just not my game any more.
12/12/12 - the day Germany decided boys are not quite human.
If movement skills are an issue you can always play a Raider.
Same, for now i very like Ruthless.

Drops and difficulty seem ok for now (lv 59 HC SSF).

League Sanctum reward for now is almost zero, now i'm into the 5th floor, and is very hard for now dodging some mechanics.

Movement skill for me is perfect, i don't like the zoom-zoom gameplay.

Need to see when i reach maps if the reward of the other leagues are balanced, but for now ruthless is perfect for my taste.
Yes, the Sanctum does become quite a different thing with some leveling. It's not as slow as I had feared once you gain some DPS. So, overall happy!
