Adder's Touch notable clarification
The notable says Critical Strikes with Daggers Poison Enemy. I had read a post from a few years back that said all damage from dagger criticals could poison however after testing I can confirm that critical hits with elemental damage from a dagger does not poison. I think it should be updated to add wording for physical damage from dagger criticals.

That would make it inaccurate. "Can poison" is no different from "can ignite." You still need the relevant damage to actually do so. If you want all damage to poison, you need a pneumatic dagger base. If they change the node the way you say, it would brick the pneumatic dagger.

I would agree, if not for the fact that it requires critical hits to poison and pneumatic dagger does not. Also it doesn't include "Can" I have confirmed that it indeed does poison on every single critical hit that is physical even with 0% chance to poison. Other nodes that are related to Critical Strikes apply to all damage types unless described as "Physical" damage. I just think it needs to be clarified, it could be changed to ***Critical strikes with daggers have 100% chance to poison***).
I know this is an old post and the tree has changed a lot over the years but the wording is still similar on the node. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/21343/page/3 " Last edited by Raithell#3657 on Mar 21, 2023, 7:29:40 PM

"Have 100% chance to poison" would be "Always poison". Just like how the Shaper of Flames has "Hits always Ignite".
That Mark quote is from an old thread, and sadly the Version History on the Poison page doesn't quite go back far enough to contain the relevant change. However, one of the sources linked on the Poison page does give some insight: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1511833 " It seems reasonable to assume that the change from "10% of all damage" to "10% of chaos and physical damage" happened around the time of the post linked above; posted in 2015, as opposed to the Adder's Touch thread from 2012. It also shows a change from single application to being stackable. |

Adder's touch is effectively 100% chance as long as you crit so it could use the "always" tag. You are right it would be like the first line of Shaper of Flames "Hits always ignite". I understand this wording because if Shaper of flames didn't have the second line of "All damage can ignite" only fire hits would ignite. In my mind always and %100 are effectively the same thing, if the wording was "Critical Hits with Daggers *always* poison" I get this its the normal poison mechanic. However it says "Crtical Strikes with daggers poison the enemy", All I see is [Critical Strikes]-(which can be any element in the game) [daggers]-(which can use several elemental based *strikes*) and [poison] (no chance and no always)
My issue is that this is the only place that uses this wording, almost every instance of poison in the game is accompanied by chance. As we all know PoE is every specfic in it's wording for effectively using skills and supports, just want it to stay consistent. Last edited by Raithell#3657 on Apr 21, 2023, 2:38:36 AM

Node description is still misleading.
