Is changing font allowed, meaning not-bannable?

I see more streamers including top ones playing POE with changed font, more strict and clean.

I know the process - its a regedit that tells your PC to change the font from 'POE Font' to 'whatever' - but I want official answer from GGG, please, is it allowed or not? I invested a lot into my account and I always play clean, no multiboxing etc. I want to know for sure - can I change font and be safe, or it is strictly prohibited? I see similar questions were asked (for example https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3182096) but there is no public answer still.

Doing anything to the game files is 100% bannable. Other means like regedit stuff, probably a grey area. GGG is unlikely to ever say anything one way or the other about that. People do it though, including on Streams, so it seems like something GGG lets slide ATM since it's not directly doing anything to the game itself. That could always change though.

Basically, who knows if it's really 100% safe? You take your chances with that kind of stuff.

if you want the official answer from GGG on this, email support and ask directly.

incl. all relevant details on how it would be done and ask if its ok.

In that other thread, the OP indicates that the PM from GGG told him it is not allowed.

You guys are all awesome, but I would prefer official reply from GGG, either in thread or PM. I think I paid enough to have answer on a simple question.

They're really just not likely to answer that directly. It's grey area stuff, which they don't typically comment on. At least not publicly.

There's no grey area where manipulating game files is concerned though, so they'll happily confirm stuff like that. But for various reasons, they don't really want everyone to know specifically what's bannable and what isn't. If it's questionable, you either opt for safety (just don't do it) or risk (do it and hope for the best).
