Why no buff bad skill?
I mean................
Is it really that hard to buff the sub 1% usage skills a bit? Balance is fun Balance allows people to play skills they like, without feeling like they are shooting themselves in the foot If there are 2 skills with similar or nearly identical gameplay, but 1 skill is dealing more dmg.... then a player would feel stupid to select the weaker one Even if they might have mtx for the weaker skill or prefer how the weaker skill looks etc Balance is good for the game... There are many skill and build archetypes that are pretty bad compared to the meta skills It's really not all that crazy to give underused skills a 10% dmg buff?? Or give em some better attack/cast speed scaling.... More added damage effectiveness maybe? It would not hurt the game at all, if anything people would be happy and see it as GGG putting in some effort Oh well I guess the game would not retain more players, if players felt like they had more builds to play and try out Call me crazy, but I think it's obvious how good it would be for the game Guess it's another league of the same meta builds Last edited by Bloomania#2606 on Dec 2, 2022, 12:52:09 AM Last bumped on Dec 3, 2022, 7:46:16 AM

I would go a little further. I would ask GGG to check poeninja and buff ascendancy classes plus skill gems and support gems that is suboptimal.

" Im pretty sure they are well aware of whats being played and what not, since they also manage to always nerf the most played stuff into the ground. Sadly they just dont bother buffing skills which are so terrible, that nobody is using them since years. |

I would say that they only way buffs happen is if people stop playing game they don't enjoy.
If you enjoy it, play, if not, don't suffer through the experience. |

I think the problem is that GGG only cares about balance between the players and monsters, and the value of items on the market, and it's always been this way. They have always taken the approach that makes the game harder rather than what balances the skills within each other, and also have always taken an approach that forces player to play the economy more; melee is in such a dire state because it's the perfect archetype to force players to engage with the economy. They usually also don't nerf specific skills, they nerf the archetype. The recent removal of 30% distance of strike targets is an example of this (which I only now found out was a thing and the context of its role in builds, which leads me realizing how foolish I was to get excited over melee splash on the tree existing).
Basically they want all builds to be terrible eventually (whether or not they are equally terrible is irrelevant to them, they'll just make everything terrible some more if one thing stands out as remarkably less terrible), because that achieves the goal they want of making the game harder, and also making more players need to trade more in order to reach an acceptable level of power. Melee and bows just have a big head start over casters because their power comes from needing to craft every specific mod possible with high rolls, as opposed to gems just needing to be leveled and getting +1 gems on various pieces of gear (even at the expense of the rest of the mods not being great). " well, GGG will end up with skills that are useless and equally sh*t to play. but at least all skills will be equal at some point after years of nerfs. Last edited by SeaSkipper#5018 on Dec 3, 2022, 6:29:12 AM

" Too many to list for skills that need generic buffs Some skills that are on items haven't been touched in a long long time Some items have skills that were never really good and still aren't good For example The Rippling Thoughts It's been bad since release in harbinger and still is Introduced in 3.0 and never changed All they did was release the slightly upgraded version "The Surging Thoughts" Which is also bad and worthless If you wouldn't consider making a build of X item or skill It's generally because it sucks and isn't worth making a build with it I can think of many many many skills and items I would never bother trying to make work because they just suck GGG can make em great if they wanted to Making more builds viable is never a bad thing Last edited by Bloomania#2606 on Dec 3, 2022, 7:48:59 AM
