Add "Guard" skill gem for Evasion based chars

Evasion-based chars need some determined defence layer, which will make them more playable
For now, there are only 4 "Guard" gems: - Steelskin - red gem, gives flat shield based on gem level - Immortal Call - red gem, reduces damage taken in next few second based on endurance charges - Molten Shell - red gem, gives flat shield, based on amount of current armour - Arcane Cloak - blue gem, gives flat shield based on mana consumed, for few seconds Now lets bring common case: You playing evastion-based character with bow as weapon (so you cannot benefit from shields) With Determination, Grace, and Granite flask (with 50% increased armour) you have nearly: 23k evasion 15k armour (7k without flask) ~4k life ~300 energy shield You can have no armour on items at all, but as player you FORCED to have armour - to reduce amount of oneshots Lets think how you can use existing gems: - Trigger - cwdt - needs gem level to affect higher gem levels, with backside of needing more damage - Steelskin - needs gem level to be useful, finding "golden middle" may be problematic as you probably will be oneshotted before it procs - Molten shell - without flask you have not that high armour to use it, yet it not needs level, unusable if you have no armour, not using determination, ... - Immortal call - you take less damage from hits, almost not scales with level. it not gives you "temprorary life", but its still better than nothing - Arcane cloak - you need free manapool to make it usable, and you have almost all mana reserved, so thats not for you Ghost Dance keystone is good, but here we dont have huge energy shield Iron Reflexes keystone is good, but it located too far from ranger I suggest adding green "guard" skill gem with some deterministic behaviour, which will be based on evasion rating Last bumped on Nov 29, 2022, 4:26:29 PM

" Boosting your life from 4k to 6k would basically increase your effective HP by 50% for all damage types. 100% spell suppression is also very important to not get oneshot. Guard skills are not gonna prevent oneshots most of the time. |
