Tiny's trial and a common failing of the game

so, I just got nothing out of tiny's trial. A result of a common failing f the game: a failure to explain things. So I get there for the first time, trying something I've never done before, and apparently it's a different minigame/way of doing things. Do they explain it beforehand? Or give me a chance to see what it's going to do BEFORE I start? no. I have to try it out and see; and I press a wrong button because the crafts aret'n applying as I'm clicking them so I try something else, and that just ends it. Bam, the whole thing is worthless, didn't get to add a single modifier.

A properly designed game would let me test the 'minigame' beforehand so I understood the rules, and it would explain to me what's going to happen.
It's really frustrating how poorly explained so much of the late game is; there's tons of features which are not at all apparent.

I'm sure that somewhere, somebody has gotten a good item from Guff's minigame. I certainly haven't, and there's a reason that he's been described as "Guff tier" (not good) when considering syndicate member allocation.
during betrayal it was actually quite popular and profitable (chaos spamming vaal regalias until high ES), but like many of the old league mechanics it was just never updated...

but OP is absolutely right, and its a very common problem in PoE: there are no explanations. Someone who hasn't played a previous league mechanic has no idea what's going on. GGG just expects you to know things which is a little ridiculous.

Especially if it's a league mechanic from 2018. Games that have frequent updates and patch/expansion lifecycle usually make sure players don't have to learn 30 patches and 7 expansions worth of mechanics if they join the party late.

Betrayal is one of the worst when it comes to unexplained complexity. For me it's a board of mess. I click buttons, bars fill. That's it, I don't care who gets allocated to what, all I care for is for the bar to fill. I won't be learning this, I just run those to unlock veiled crafts for the league.
