Yes, but you also spent a lot of "Black Scythe" currency in the process, plus time that you could be mapping instead, so the "profit > 2x coins value" is justified.

Bear in mind what I said earlier, about how Tujen is still my greatest source of currency so far and a link to a thread I made where I highlight my issue with profitability. I play summoner builds, so my mapping speed is slow (and as of Kalandra, stupidly expensive). Essences, Heist, Incursion, mapping, none of these have given me more currency than haggling with Tujen has. There's very little else I could do to give good profit for time spent. Delirium and Legion? Timed leagues, summoners are too slow to get anything worthwhile. Harvest? Worthless for poor players since it got gutted after 3.13. Harbinger? Worthless since the shift in exalt value. Metamorph? With AN mods? Lol, lmao even. Ritual is like mini-Tujen which you can't force with scarabs.

Bear in mind those 169 coins were earned from both mapping as well as expedition logbooks which I earned myself. What you see in those screenshots were pure profit on top of whatever little else I got while mapping. If I had sold the coins, I would've made far less than haggling.

I stand by what I said: Expedition is still a huge source of currency, Tujen is the best money maker, and OP's claims of him being nerfed are unfounded as my experience with him has been consistent since inception.

Yea Tujen is still just as silly as he was when he was introduced back in Expedition.

Do 40 + logbooks and then sit in front of him for several hours




He really is just too powerful if we are being honest with ourselves.

One guy drops every basic currency in the game
One guy drops every fossil/resonator in the game
One guy drops every gem (except awakened) in the game. Yes even enlighten
One guy drops every card in the game
One guy drops every map, including delirium, influence, bosses, in the game
One guy drops all breach splinters in the game
One guy drops all legion splinters in the game
One guy drops every scarab (except winged)
Simulacrum splinters, ritual, Heist contracts/Bp's, ....

You get my point


This is excluding everything you GET IN THE LOGBOOK. It is quite hilarious they have left him in this state.

My personal xp is that Tujen is neither OP or UP, hes fine

I think expedition in general is just very RNG-reliant and profit is somewhat unstable, gwen can make all those thousands of astra super worth it if you get lucky with an unnatural instinct or one of the infamous pair of belts, tujen is similar, but just in a less extreme way: Hes quite consistent on small profits, with every blue moon he pulling a cortex map out of his arse, but, like most big stuff in poe, he is super inconsistent with it. Tujen is just another mechanic good for small steady profit with a spike here and there, just dont go to him gunning for the spikes or youll very likely end dissapointed

Also, Expedition itself is a difficult league encounter on its own that you can literally brick if you don't pay attention. There's no other encounter where, for an increase in logbook drops, you give enemies immunity to a damage type (and hope its not the one you specialize in) or grant them massive amounts of block chance and huge bursts of HP regen.

But of course, this all depends on RNG. You may get lucky and have a remnant give logbook drop chance for an enemy buff that does nothing, but you might not. You may get lucky that Gwennen will give you a Mageblood, but you most certainly will not. You may get lucky and find 4div from Tujen with one Exotic Coin, but you might not.

But Tujen still remains a very consistent source of currency. How much currency you get from him depends largely on how good you are at running Expeditions and how good you are at haggling to make his relics last.

RNG-reliant but over a large sample size it's quite consistent. There is a reason behind Expedition being one of the most popular atlas specializations and Expedition-related sextants and scarabs being among the most expensive. If you're running Grand Design strategy with high pack size you'll be full of logbooks, which will supply huge amounts of fragments to trade with Tujen (and Dannig). I am always well stocked on bubble currency since Tujen got introduced to the game. Why even have chaos recipe in the game when this guy sells a stack of 5 or 10 chaos orbs every second reroll.
