Divine orb not working

Hey guys, I've attached the screenshot.

I recently purchased a Brass dome (legacy version) and traded a bunch of chaos orbs to purchase a divine orb (to update it to its newest version) and after spending the divination orb on the armor, it did not update, much to my chagrin.

I am not an 8+ hours a day player, I play with my wife, and we really enjoy our time, but it takes us a LONG time to earn something like a divine orb, so when a bug like this kicks us in the butt, it really murders our enjoyment of the game :(

Hoping the devs can do something about the bug, so we don't feel so punished for doing what we thought we were supposed to do to try and "upgrade" our gear.

This isn't a bug. You can't add mods to an item via divining it. Also, GGG doesn't restore lost items for any reason, so they can't/won't do anything for you.

Ok, I was not trying to add mods, I had just read that divining an item would update it.

I have logged back in for a more real time conversation. Thank you for the offering of help!

Divine Orb can add mod in some special case, such as adding additional line to existing mod to make it a hybrid, if GGG designed the change to implantment that way (Willowgift, Hopeshredder)


But for Brass Dome case, it is a totally new mod with new mod id.


Also, legacy Brass Dome should worth something with the high legacy increased Armour mod value, and you destroyed the item also....

Copy that, lesson learned.

I'd just like to say that Aragorn14 is just about the most helpful, informative player I've ever met on here, and is extremely knowledgeable and has explained the entire process to me to the point that I now fully understand it and feel empowered with the knowledge going forth.

Similar situation with my alt art BoR lol, having multiple mod ids for a single item is just bad decision making imo, hopefully GGG can do something about them to make it less confusing (i.e divine will just update uniques to the latest patch notes, enough of the multiple mod ids bs)
