After the dust had settled, I was willing to give this league a shot.
But more and more it just feels like GGG hates their playerbase and doesnt want us to have fun. Be it loot nerfs, the annoying AN mobs, the nerfs to deterministic crafting or the NERFS TO ALMOST EVERYTHING ELSE! Like I didnt even realize it was that bad until I made an iceshot deadeye. I was honestly shocked to see how bad the ascendancy looked in comparison to a few leagues ago, then I thought "hey lets play a summoner". LOL! [Removed by Support] I have played 4.5k hours since beta but never have I felt so sad about the state of this game. It feels almost like some cancer, something within GGG is sabotaging the game and destroying itself. Its horrific to witness, but I might finally have to say goodbye if you continue down this road. what the userbase usually understands as "fun", is to have the illusion to get better at the game and get more rewards and faster progression and so on.
the analogy of "cancer" is a really fitting one for "power creep" cause it starts slow and accelerates until the patient (or game) is dead. ggg isn't destroying, it is healing from the wrong user base that doesn't understand game cycles and have no clue that there is no unlimited growth. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

You have no clue what are you talking about huh? Theese changes make an allready hard new player experience even harder. How is it a good decision? Everyone in Business knows that the moment you start loosing more clients then you add, your money start going down till they eventally reach minus. They make a game harder ok, but what they do for new players? Absolute zero. And old players?So whats the goal here? Rabbits arent happy

Power creep, faster progression, more rewards; only the hardcore veteran players were the ones fully and completely able to abuse all of this, while the actual userbase that got hooked with the fast pace and progression GGG themselves got everyone hooked on in the last years are now leaving because they wouldn't play the slow grindy boring shit it was when 1.0 leagues were rolling out. You say "healing", the vast majority that alredy left prior to the first month, hell, the first week, say "bait and switch". Ruthless should be [Removed by Support]. Nerfs need to happen every few leagues, this keeps the power creep in check.
If we didn't have any nerf leagues then your characters would have 6 million life and would do 800 trillion DPS, with more than 1 billion base damage from your skills. You would have Ancient Legendary skill gems with Awakened Ancient Legendary support gems that go up to level 45 and require 200 hours to max out. You would have paragon leveling system with a bonus passive skill point each level and you could reach few hundred of these levels by now, allocating half of the skill tree without a problem. They would need to release 10 more map tiers every league to keep up with this insane power creep. You would do map tiers measured in the hundreds today. This is exactly what Diablo III did and it is not good. This number hike basically prevented them from making any new content, because they realized that players stick around anyway and there's not much point in devoting precious dollars to actual creative work. Just make new cosmetics and bump torment difficulty levels by three. I think this game achieved a great thing - which is resisting power creep for dozens of leagues. Your endgame character will have a similar life pool and will take a similar amount of time to kill an endgame boss as your character from 2018 or 2020. Sure there are builds capable of deleting uber pinnacle boss in half a second, but these are TFT mirror tier, not accessible to regular POE player. There were always builds like that. |

" I disagree, I used to have a LOT of fun when power was crazy. Why don't YOU just not equip all gear slots if you want a harder game? I don't want a fucking thing harder ever. I want it EASIER. I have put in 500+ hours per league for years... Why do I have to get fucked over for the pleasure of others? Let me have my game. It was completely fine until 3.15, even though it's been going dramatically downhill since 3.9 The game isn't worth that amount of time, and it still wants MORE. FUCKING. TIME.
