the sirus fight is the worst thing ever
" boss literally has invuln phases every few seconds and teleports in a way that is difficult to see the direction he goes. Also super easy to avoid everything even if you can't see it. its a terribly designed fight with a few simple changes could be way better. |

" You call hitscan offscreen beam a good design? Even without bugs, defeating it deathless (without % recover on block exploit) strongly depends on luck: you may get pinned down between the cross beam and ground degens, and die in next 2 seconds, or you may not, and finish off the boss after reaching him. It would have been "okay" design without death penalty (yes, my favorite topic again :), but penalty is there. For reference, Maven does not have those issues because of arena boundaries, much better visibility/color contrast, and properly telegraphing attacks. You can see what boss is doing, while Sirus is the only boss who basically prefers to attack from offscreen. Last edited by Echothesis#7320 on Oct 15, 2022, 1:30:50 PM

There is zero luck involved in the Sirus fight, it's easily one of the most mechanical fights in the game. There is a fair amount of things to be said about the color choices and the storm phases but aside from those things the fight is very well done.

Really hope this thread is talking about Usirus and not the regular fight.
Only problem I have with Usirus is just the amount of degen the damn thing will have in the last phase, last league I had to specialize in less damage taken over time on the trait tree, some notable in the upper right hand, and then another one in the pantheon just to survive moving around. Regular Sirus fight?... this is a skill issue. Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Oct 15, 2022, 2:13:21 PM

Definitely not the worse one --- but I would agree its not exactly a "fun" fight either.
Yep, totally over league play.

" You only have to deal with hitscan beam as you call it if you die in the fight, it isn't well designed for running back in for sure but actually within the confines of the fight its excellent. You can tank it without too much difficulty too you don't need recovery on block its just spell blocks the cheapest. Honestly I agree that Sirus is pretty well designed now they ironed out a majority of the bugs - there are 3 things that i'd fix to bump it up further. Lasers on entry to the arena if re-entering. Teleporting to the middle of the spinning lasers is absolutely bs for melee. Ocasionally he ends up too off centre to be a fun fight, if half of his illusion bros are in a storm he went too far out, clip the range a little. On the whole though I think its one of the best fights in the game now, its spicy but not too spicy and gives all the feelings a boss fight should. I prefer him to Maven due to Maven being entirely an arena challenge. |

" I was referring to action speed penalty from corruption + tier3 homing beam shot. As a melee I have to move closely to the spinning beams and their center, and slightest collision slows me down. If at the same moment Sirus decides to teleport far offscreen, with another 2 spinning beam branches between him and me, I may not have enough flame dash charges left to cover the distance, and he shoots me in the face from close-to-medium range (and cannot hope to avoid tier 3 beam at long range at all, it will track). As for entourage, I agree that this is one of the most epic-looking fights, if only ground degen colors were brighter, corridor and meteor maze weren't leading straight to those degens, and deatomization storms weren't sitting literally on top of arena entrance when trying to reenter after dying (yes, last bug is still there, hit it a few times) |

You can dodge at least most of the DIE beam at range by moving to the outer ring of the arena and flamedash alongside it the moment you hear the voice line. However that requires you to have at least some idea of Sirus location otherwise you run the risk of teleporting right towards him. If you messed up and lost track of him completely then that's still the best course of action but it might end up failing in that case you're either tanky enough to not care or you'll end up dead.

" anyone got a decoder for this? Do you mean getting hit by cold first and being chilled because you aren't immune? Die beam is at least 50% dodged if hes anywhere you know and you flame dash at the right time in the audio cue pretty much. As Baharoth says unless you've lost him completely you should never get hit by more than half and half is easily tankable. There are loads of approaches to just tank it flat out too now if you just want to be able to make mistakes. It really isn't a problem Die beam is his core mechanic it has to be powerful as in the regular fight its the only actual threat. |

" decoding: " You can be immune to freeze, but not to this generic action speed penalty. Ranged characters are not bothered by it, but melee dps suffers more from it, especially if boss happens to stand closer to degen ground and is about to be passed by one of these beams. This situation not happening was the bit of necessary luck, that I was referring to above. And not saying boss fight should be redesigned because of that, problem is death penalty severity at highest levels, not the boss mechanics. |
