Is there a good ssf build guide out there?
Hello I'd like to try ssf to learn more about crafting and stuff I usually never really use, what's a good build I could use to try and make it to the end game ?

You could just learn how to craft.
SSF is actually playing the game. Most people don't, they buy the gear. When you play SSF you are at the whim of luck. So having a plan is nice ...but I have now leveled 4 characters to 75 or more this league All in the attempt to assemble the build i was trying for. I got some of the drops I needed. The chest piece is in my inventory because i cant link it. A secondary chest is in my inventory because i can't link it either. Until you have 2 copies of it its risky to work on because you can run out of materials right as you roll one socket ... or 2 of 6 linked. Never found the gem or the weapons i would need. SSF is the game .... it's not in a great place right now. Tbh I wouldn't advise doing SSF this league. You wont get the practice with crafting. It's not really crafting, it's roulette. I have 0 crafting materials left... 4 ex and 6 divines in my bag but... in SSF thats useless Last edited by Jitter912#4278 on Sep 28, 2022, 1:24:39 PM

There are a couple of builds that are possible to get into endgame and work as a starter too. What you should avoid as a starter are builds that have mandatory uniques that cannot be target farmed (by div cards or specific drop locations) or builds that require boss loot equipped to kill the boss it is dropping from.
A lot of builds like Lightning strike Champ, BV poison occultist, Lightning conduit and others do pretty fine with low investment till late maps and can be upscaled with the stuff you got from mapping and leveling later. If you include Uber-Bosses in your endgame, the possible build diversity will get a bit tighter. Once you are hoarding crafting resources and rare drops, possible builds come closer to trade league often with some downgrades from the 500m dps builds you can see in trade. There are some good guides out there that will explain everything and then you have guides that don't explain anything and assume you know the in and out of the game.
Edit: Like someone above mentioned, avoid builds that *require* something because if you're playing SSF you might not find that item easily(if you're new). When I started playing this league I went to maxroll and picked one of those builds. Their guides are A+ quality. They have milestones and everything set up in such a way a new player will understand what is going on. I first picked the shatter build and that was a terrible mistake for a newer player like me. The AN mobs were destroying me and there was nothing I could do about it since I lacked range. I then looked at the ballista build and that was very fun to play. Later on in the league I changed from elementalist to crusader or what it was and my survivability increased quite a bit. It's a build that I'll be using in the future for sure. Recently I started playing around with Righteous Fire or whatever it was called, the guide isn't anywhere near as good as maxroll but it's okay. There are a lot of things that I don't understand or is just poorly explained but it's all good. It's a bit more melee focused build and it's fairly fun but at times you run into some AN's that just destroy you. It's hard to know what AN is bad and what isn't until you're standing toe to toe with them. If it's a bad one you can try kite them around with mines but it's a tedious chore and let's be real most of them just drop trash anyway, ie not worth the effort. I've only ever played SSF because I don't see the point in the trade league(no offence meant to players that play it). Maybe if the game had a better trading system I'd play it but no thanks. I'd rather struggle in SSF than just buying what I want like a mobile game. Last edited by hulduet#6037 on Sep 28, 2022, 2:14:48 PM
