Is it still possible to play with no spell suppression, 75% max res?

Just a question,
it seems to me it became impossible to survive in T16 / boss fight without having 90% max elemental resistance or 100% spell suppression AND big amour or evasion + Big pool life .

So is it mandatory to invest on max cap or spell suppression ? Or trying to increase life pool to 6000/7000 (or higher) could be enought ?

I think it is mandatory to invest in max cap or spell suppression OR block with hp/es recovery on block. Big armor is good too. Maximizing life/es is not as important as getting immunities. Immunity to chaos damage, critical strikes, elemental ailments, hexes...

Zizaran can run around with 10K hp/es and still get wrecked by chaos damage.

You still bringing up the time he died to chaos dmg when he had negative chaos res and had picked up a ton eldritch altars including the one that gave eldritch monsters % chaos dmg based on phys dmg and then also had the atlas tree perk that gives them more dmg based on how many eldritch altars you've picked?
He deserved that death.
But somehow ppl think that oh no he literally shouldn't have died to anything no matter what he picks
There are also more numbers available between 75 and 90. I find Ailment Immunity a very noticeable layer of defense. Why not pick up some defense layers here and there without going to be either out of defense or specialised in it.
Multiple defense layers are an option, depending on what kind of gear you have or where on the tree you are. Not all defense layers are free of weaknesses. Block and recovery on block builds are often very vulnerable to all sorts of damage over time.
Just facetanking everything with just the minimum of 75% without any avoidance or further mitigation will not be enough to comfortably cruise dangerous maps with boosted content.
85%+ Uncapped res, yes. Only defenses are steelskin (if only Bone Armour existed as a Scion!!) & block.

Tried 100% spell suppression for a while, did not notice any effect - was dying as often as before investing in it. For mapping, best defense is offense - kill all enemies before they start using their attacks/spells.

If you have enough dps, you can clear most T16 maps deathless, even without capped resists. Here's an example: https://youtu.be/o14BWFJNv8w
dont get hit :)
d:-D*
its possible you just link cast on death with portal.

If you got one severe hole in your defenses (phys attacks) then its unlikely that spell suppression would help much. Spell suppression does IME however give a major boost to survival if the char has good phys mitigation and some evasion/block.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Yes, might be good for making decent survivability into better, in specially against end game bosses, but for mapping I don't think it's that useful.
