“Simple” solution to useless rare drops? drop ID’ed

Then loot filters can tell us if it’s worth picking up.

Currently no one picks up rares bc it’s not worth the time to pick up, ID, vendor (or drop).

Just a thought.

They just need to update the unique Cloak of Tawm'r Isley. It already auto ID's dropped magic items. Why stop there.

PoE follows the core D2 philosophy of ID'ing items through scrolls. Auto-ID goes against that.

Yeah and it also makes rares practically worthless in PoE. Again, just a thought but seems, at least to me, an easy solution. Otherwise it’s hard to imagine a scenario where picking up rares becomes a thing.

there are server side implications to auto ID.

so its never going to happen.

Gotcha. We’ll then there ya go. I guess another way to make rares worth picking up is to limit the lower tier mods from showing up on higher tier bases so at least there’s a greater chane that Rare’s have something good. Otherwise too much variance to make the pick up / Id / drop process worth it. Which is what we have now.

This is a pretty nice bait and troll. The only thing is lacks is abit further from the truth.

In days gone by, I'd identify and pick up every rare item.
These days I only pick up rares that have a base that is potentially worth using and identify those.

I id good bases and got quite a few useful gear in ssf of course. The real problem of the game is all the multiplayer nonsense instead of being single player and co op.
