COUGH COUGH. COUGH. Remove this festering disgusting garbage from the archnem pool. There's ENOUGH things punishing you for standing still as is. If anything, Effigy would be rather ineffective in Delve, except when you actually get to a node and have to fight there. Note that part that 'running away from the Effigy can sever the link'.... and in Delve, you're pretty much always on the run till you get to the node point.
The point of Effigy is to be a threat to players that would be difficult to hit were they targeted themselves... high evasion and/or high block defenses. Characters that depend on armor or energy shield won't see much of an effect from Effigy. If anything, the effigy beint targeted is better for them, as only half the damage gets reflected, and then Resistances (armor, elemental resistance, etc) still kick in. I play Armor/ES defenses on my character, and I've never died to an effigy. Different AN mods work better or worse against different kinds of chracters. This one is a bane for those who depend on evasion/dodge. |

You know what happens with an effigy and half a screen of on death effects? Yeah, you eat all that dmg. Its almost like the game "design" is falling apart as you play, revealing the RNG waste-your-time-simulator below.

" I mean, if we look at every "on-death" effect and the possibility of it to hit the EFFIGY as opposed to the actual player, you're looking at very, very slim numbers here. - Toxic balls don't target the effigy 99% of the time - MAgma barrier balls don't hit it unless you walk over it - Flame/Frost/Lightning bearers (balls with an AoE that explode after a while) shouldn't hit effigy - Delve ice spike from the spiders wouldn't hit effigy unless you got really unlucky with its taunt, and at that point, it's really on you not having severed the link - Most other on-death effects don't damage effigy (such as incediary for example) This was a rather thoughtless rant, wasn't it Effigy is at its strongest in Ritual. " Oh they hit it alright. When the mob has minions that drop it and effigy, you clear the mobs around the rare, they drop the vomit right on the effigy and you eat all the dmg. Almost died to this 2 times so far. Pretty sure if it has 2 mods for bearers, you are toast (since twice the amount of balls drop and explode).
