Scourge Arrow Pod Spacing and Distribution In 3.19
In the past, when you aimed your cursor further away the pods would space out more; that is normal. However, even placing the cursor close to your character the pods still have quite a bit of space between them.
This video I found goes over the current interactions in Kalandra league - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwENnSncjI8 Here is some MTX videos of Scourge Arrow from past where you can see how tight the pods spawned when the cursor is aimed close to the character - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMm_mX-O2Es Here is the original skill release video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8lvbEBVJPg Now, you could argue this works in favour of clear while mapping, the randomness but the whole point of getting the helm enchant (+1 pod) and/or an extra arrow (that bunches up the pods for bosses) is so that all the pods/thorn arrows hit the boss. The way it's currently working is atrocious if you use the skill on a boss now. Yes, I tested SA today with and without the extra pod helm enchant and with a single arrow and +1 and +2 arrows. The pods do, in fact, get distributed along the extra arrows so randomly. Usually 4 pods on one arrow and a 5th single pod on the second arrow. Or 4 pods and 2 pods using the helm chant. The pod spawn spacing issue, on top of the random pod distribution along arrows needs serious looking at please. I think something happened this league when it got buffed. GGG, please look into this.
It's been a pretty awful skill for a while now and clunky to play. Finally got excited for the buff to it and other people are experiencing the same. |

" Thank you, I wanted to add in as well that the person testing this is the video I linked noted in their comment section that proj and/or attack speed didn't seem to affect the gap in spawn distance. However, I equipped a Quill Rain bow and even while holding the cursor at my feet the gap between each pod was even more obnoxiously wide, let alone holding the cursor further away. Hope that helps in the testing and that it gets fixed soon. Cheers. |

" Sorry for the bump but I just wanted to point out that once again, earlier this league, I tried out Scourge Arrow and it still feels awful for bunching up the pods if you have anything over 0% inc projectile speed. If you do, the pods spawn so far apart from each other, and you have to actively avoid notables/passives on the tree that have inc% proj speed. This always isn't the case for certain builds and pathing to where you want to go. One might argue this makes the skill great to clear better but it was already fine with the old way the pods spawned. Also, even with 1-2 additional arrows the pods are not always dividing equally along each initial arrow. I tried this with and without the extra pod helm chant. With 5-6 pods I was still seeing a 1-pod + 4-pod line (with 2 total arrows) or a 2-pod + 4-pod line (with 2 total arrows + helm chant). The *only* way they ever appeared to be somewhat balanced was by holding the mouse cursor directly under my character's feet, but you cannot be that precise every cursor click. Yes, I know generally for any projectile how cursor location works, but with Scourge Arrow this is so extreme with no room for error. Really hoping SA finally gets another looking at between the projectile speed interaction and uneven pod spawning. On a sidenote, 99.5% people play poison Pathfinder SA which seems to work great (for mapping) but I tried a hit-based/non-poison build and it felt so awful. Maybe due to the thorn arrows from pods having a 50% less dmg multiplier. I feel like perhaps this part of SA could also have a look taken at. Thx for hearing me out for a beloved skill <3 |
