Did i bork my game?

fought the black star with my poorly prepared toon, and am also a bad, so i died a number of times. in fact, i died so many times that i killed it on my last portal... then died right after to the avalanche. so i got the kill, but didnt get the quest item. ive done a number of exarch maps now trying to get another invite to redo the thing, but it hasnt dropped in like ten maps. and without that i cant actually advance anything.

You dont get a quest item from Black Star You get the Black star invitation after 14 T14+ maps then once you complete 28 T14+ maps you get the Searing Arch/Eater of Worlds invite which drop Omniscient Voidstone/Grasping Voidstone

The Black Star doesn't drop a quest item, right?

After you fight The Black Star you have to finish 14 more Exarch influenced Tier 14+ maps to drop the Incandescent Invitation, then fight the Searing Exarch, who will drop the Omniscient Voidstone when you defeat him.

kinda my issue. i dont have progress towards either of the eldritch guys. despite having ton a fair few maps for them by now

Hm that is strange maybe just continue until you finish 14 more maps and see if you get the invite for the Pinnacle Boss invite at the 28th map.

done a ton more maps for the eldritch guys, both eater and exarch. still no progress bars anywhere. it may not have been a quest item, but it was surely quest dialogue. not positive ive done 14 of each type since... but i am pretty damn sure ive done at least that. no more invites, no more dialogue, just entries in the world screen telling me to pursue them

edit - welp, got another red invite, and after fighting him i have the tracking. so guess its worked out. still feel something went wonky
