Path of Math excellent breakdown on the current state of everything i guess.

An entire rant that in the end he wont be able to make those items this league and that regular items will be too expensive for the casual player where he should have said that items will become more valuable to a player when they aqcuire them.

It's not helpful for the discussion of the current state of the game to reduce it to personal antipathy for a random streamer. The core of what path of math is saying should alarm every player of that game. If people who really know what they're doing because they play the game for a living are stuck into game mechanics hindering them to develop their char, this will affect every player who reaches the endgame content.

It's not about 'value of items'. It's about a dead end that stops progression.

Path of Math, good riddance!

He states most uniques and rare items are crap, taking a dump on all oldschool supporters that helped growing this game in the initial days.

Most uniqes and rares i pick up are crap. So yes. And I am talking about all leagues. I very rarely used any rares i picked up. Only for leveling. But in past leagues I would always either craft or trade for the items i need for the builds.

So yes most rares and uniqes are crap on drop.

It's a sorry state of affairs when I agree with PoM. Watched a few of his streams a few weeks ago while I was playing standard. Not that impressive tbh.

But on this he is right. I guess it's times like these you really get to see streamers and content makers' real character.
I feel really bad for all the content creators, they make their living off this game and some others, but when something like this happens it affects their life and their families.

I am lucky enough I can just go decide to play another game or watch some TV, but these guys have to figure out a way to make up the gap in income because of a very bad update.

As much as it's not the developers fault these guys created their life around their game, I think it is something that will have to be considered more and more as gaming gets bigger and bigger with youtube/twitch.

It's basic logic people, If people that are dedicated to optimizing the game can't do things what hope do the rest of the players have of doing it?

Most players juice maps in one way or the other. Most players craft items in one way or the other. If it is broken at the top level chances are it is broken at your level. I didn't TFT augs in harvest but my free divines are gone and chaos crafts gutted. I didn't do 100% deli maps with all the trimmings but I did run low scarabs, some deli, some kirak mods and sextants.

Sure they lose more than we do in absolute numbers but relative to what it was before everyone is in the same boat. Whether we like it or not a video from empy or asmongold is going to have more pull on GGG than the topics on these forums and we can be happy that the streamers and content creators are doing what they are.

But on the otyher hand, there's this take from sirgog, who reckons that for casual players this patch should work out better and basically fix things.
i.e. fine for those who basically alch & go in maps with maybe the odd scarab, and definitely aren't doing top-end juicing , and most especially if you're not reliant on trade and trading.

Which IS how PoE used to be, only with a total lack of scarabs. And not coincidentally that's closer to what there was in D2.

Not sure that's what many vocal people want now, nor from PoE2, but IMO if the game isn't balanced around having this trickle-down, drips from the rich man's table economy, it'll be better overall. More replayable for a majority of people who don't play to the otherworldly efficiency of empyrian etc.

More people quitting because of tanky rares and a decrease in drop rates? Nice, weed them out

I'm happy we're talking about the important issues of an aRPG.

It's not helpful but it is important who says something. Its important because he sees it to the eyes of someone who profits from it. He makes the argument that without him and his kind poe is dead. Which is just wrong, it might be different. Same as kripp and his cronies weren't the greatest thing ever for poe.

If one wants to discuss the current state of the game, he needs various ggg members on a big table to talk.

I hope they dont change stuff and stick to what they had planned, it might be good, but we'll never know because of early changes. Original heist idea could have been great.
