"BLITZ LEAGUE" FOR FUN AND CASUAL
There is a category of PoE players that want to play and enjoy the game, without grinding like a no-lifer degen.
What I am proposing here is a very fun and casual mode for PoE. "Blitz". In effect create the opposite of SSF. My suggestions below may seem controversial. But I believe this type of league mode could actually become the most popular in PoE. Just hear me out guys. The league will have 3 modes: "Blitz" Regular SSF Blitz will be self-contained and characters cannot be migrated to Regular league. FEATURES OF BLITZ LEAGUE: 1. Accelerated campaign progression - Campaign will only be Act 1 to Act 4, and targeting at 3hrs completion time for casual gamer - Exp is accelerated such that finishing campaign - characters will be at level 60s in time for map - Increased drop rates of common currencies like transmutes, alts, alcs for buying gems etc. - Increase drop-rate of 4-links - Goal is to remove the tediousness and annoying aspects of campaign - yet still retain the sense of progression and achievement before hitting maps - Bonus: make it easy for players to join groups to run the campaign together - this will create a nice social effect. 2. Mapping QoL - Expanded inventory space - Auto-looting pet that picks items - when you pause to stand near items - based on your filter. If character is moving or using skills - pet will not loot - Goal is to remove friction and make mapping a fast and pleasant experience, remove clicking-tediousness 3. Crafting QoL - Disable mirror and mirror shard drops - Reintroduce either a) old Harvest, OR b) recombinators and Sentinel mechanic - Lower cost of 6-link recipe on bench, or provide Harvest 6-link recipe at a fair cost - Goal is to enable players to create items for themselves in the fun ways that we enjoyed with Harvest OR Recombinators. However trade mechanic will still exist - so players can buy and sell items if they choose. Although, removal of mirrors will incentivize creating GG items for oneself 4. New Char QoL - After completing campaign for 1st time - any subsequent chars will be allowed to skip campaign and just be created at level 60-something with passive points 5. Trade QoL - Auction house And then there can be an entry fee, say $5, for this league that is also combined with a starter pack with provisions/MTX (like diff types of looting pets). Why does this make sense? -> a) The casual gaming market is a massive, massive market. I know this because mobile gaming revenue is already greater than PC + console gaming revenue COMBINED. b) "Try-hard" PoE players can still enjoy Regular mode or SSF mode. Blitz mode does not affect them in ANY WAY This casual PoE mode could scale up to hundreds of thousands of players that just want to enjoy PoE in a fun and easy way - say for 2hrs-3hrs per day. This is perfect for them, and doesn't impact the other types of try-hard players. GGG has nothing to lose and everything to gain. I absolutely agree there should be 2 leagues.
One hard and challenging, for the nolifer pro's. And one for the casual gamer, who is just looking for some fun and a way to relax. Currently POE3.19 with this archnemesis S**T is just way to stressful. |

I don't think it will happen, but a casual league might actually make me come back to this game.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

GGG has clearly made the decision to not focus on player growth or revenue generation, as they are launching Ruthless mode and focusing resources on that.
Talk about a BIZARRE decision. The numbers of players for Trade league vs. Hardcore vs. SSF -> shows that adding more "hardcore", aspects and taking out fun, is LESS popular with players. Always amazes me how much time and resources they spend on things that don't make sense, but I guess that's their "vision" for the game. Last edited by Ceryneian#3541 on Oct 16, 2022, 4:47:17 AM
