How do you pronounce Wraeclast?
Looking to start a podcast for PoE on a weekly / semi-weekly basis depending upon updates and news. I've rather other successful podcasts I enjoy doing them about the games I love.
But I'm not exactly sure on the pronunciation of Wraeclast? I'd like to get it start from Chris & gang preferably or at least someone who has been in the community a long time who knows, I do not mean to disrespect anyone by saying a name wrong. Any help appreciated, cheers. |

Ray-class-t. That's how the Chris has pronounced it in interviews, so that's definitive, far as I'm concerned. Unless there's a pronunciation change in an upcoming patch. =^[.]^=
ETA: Watch this vid for pronunciations (if a tad accented): http://www.pathofexile.com/video/templar-trailer/play =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/ whiskers =@[.]@= boggled / =>[.]<= annoyed or angry / ='[.]'= concerned / =0[.]o= confuzzled / =-[.]-= sad or sleepy / =*[.]*= dazzled / =^[.]~= wink / =~[.]^= naughty wink / =9[.]9= rolleyes #FourYearLie Last edited by Raycheetah#7060 on May 21, 2012, 2:31:53 PM

So, Ray-class-T?
It sounds awesome up to the end of it, makes it sound like Wraeclassty or Wraeclasstie unless I'm not doing something correct with the T? |

I edited my post to include a vid. =^[.]^=

Yea the video helped a lot, thank you.
Accent aside it was a definite Ray-Clast sound. I'll stick with that, thanks for the help much appreciated good sir. |

A quick google reveals that the first hit for "Wraeclast" has nothing to do with the game at all.
This fascinated me, but confirmed what I suspected when I first saw it. The word's in Old English, and of course it means "The Exile's Path." It's an odd choice given the fact that Wraeclast itself is very heavily flavoured by Maori (Karui) elements. I figure Wraeclast is the Oriathian term for the place, and that Oriath itself is some fictitious manifestation of England hovering just off the coast of Wraeclast. ...Odd setup, but strangely intriguing. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Rake-Last or Ray-Classed? Slightly different...
Being Australian, I pronounce it 'Ray-Clahst' -- not quite as strong as 'arst' but definitely not just 'ast'. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
