For the very first time divining legacy items can remove useful stats

So I bought some items which will be changed in the new patch. Rise of the Phoenix and other uniques will lose their life value and get other values increased. I hoped that only armour and life regen will be updated to the higher values and divining the item can not remove the old life roll. No, it actually shows the new life roll of 0 in brackets! 0! Must be the first time that divining your old item can remove the stat.

What do you mean very first time.... this has been the case for a long while now. Sometimes legacy items have worse stats but most of the time when something becomes "legacy" it's worse off.

Edit - When I say worse off, that means the newer versions are worse off than the older variants.
Yep, totally over league play.

Sure I know there are some old legacy items where a divine would change a value from 240 to lets say 160. I never before saw the case that a divine removes a line from an old item by setting the value to 0. So far Ive seen it in the latest patch for Rise of the Phoenix (life), Kintsugi (life), Rime Gaze (increased damage) and Marohi Erqi (flat physical damage).
It basically depends on what got changed --- was it just stat reduction (lower numbers) or different stats added and removed.

I'd have a lot more room in standard if I wasn't worried about legacy or something going legacy.
Yep, totally over league play.
In this case the life mod got removed but they did it in a sneaking way, so that if you divine the legacy item, it "loses" the life mod now, instead of the divine orb ignoring it, because the new item has a hidden mod placeholder that sets life at 0, but you don't see this hidden mod unless you actually had it on the item to begin with (a legacy item, for example).

Thats how it always worked. (or at least for long enough to say its always been like that)
Kaoms chest used to give +1000 life, that item is super old and if you divine it, it will go to +500 life instead.

This has been done before, the old soul mantle with +1 totems works the same way.
yeah this has always been a thing it just depends in what way the items been changed. stat lines have definitely disappeared off items before.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
not the first time. At least Jack Axe can
