I guess you're still mad about not knowing your build and dying on level 99?

First, we don't know how Divine orb changes will impact the market and currency exchange rates, so I think it's too soon to panic.

Second, no disrespect to Standard players, but I think it's safe to assume that the overwhelming majority is playing Leagues, and therefore not losing anything because they start fresh. You can even skip several leagues, and you still won't miss anything. Imho, games like WoW are much 'worse' in this regard, and are designed in a way that either you play pretty much daily or you will miss a lot of content. Path of Exile makes jumping in and out pretty easily.

Last time I played full on, more than 5 hours a day, was back in Delirium when all of my real-life friends jumped in to play POE. Since then, all days put together, maybe 5-6 weeks total playing in span of a year and a half. I jumped back in a week ago, to try out where the game is, yeah I tried to dedicate a day or two to get 99-100 but, died once, yeah once I'm at like 50% to level 100 because game doesn't know how to log out. And I don't even play standard. That's basically it. But I can see how your personality is one of the worst I've encountered in years. You not even evaluating my argument instead you went and digged around on my profile. You msut not have any friends in real life, trully, one of the worst I've seen in years...

Most of us play leagues. We are already "losing" everything every 3 months and we dont care about it. Standard is just a graveyard played by few people and GGG no longer takes standard into consideration whenever they add any changes. So expect that you can get chopped any time.

you can use standard to test a build before you start heads first on day1. At least that is what we used to do.

You have Path of Building for that nowadays.

I was a teenager in the "wild west of the internet" so maybe i'm a little callous. But if someone being racist or mean on the internet hurts your feelings, thats kind of your own fault. Like why do people hold so much value in what some random dude/girl on the internet thinks.

There is a difference in the way ggg does it compared to blizzard, which is the reason I quit wow.

What they do in Wow is give you some thing to grind for to get ahead of someone else. Then with the next patch they create this normalization where someone that did 1-2 m+ a month has the same power level as you who did 30-40 m+ a week for months. In wow you are forced to do that type of grind to beat the highest level of content if you're semi casual. Then every time a new raid comes out you are on the same level as the nubs that do no farming.

In diablo 3 for me, after 1-2 days im nodding out while grinding rifts so I can't really give an honest opinion on it other than its just so boring because there is no real crafting system. Their crafting system forces you to do those stupid quests over and over instead of picking your content of choice and using the economy to craft the way you like crafting.

In poe its not quite the same thing. You can grind with that level of dedication in 3-4 days and beat all the content. Then you can relax and just play the game and enjoy yourself for a month or so before you take a break before the next patch. (at least this is what i do)

As far as I can tell for the most part people really don't care about standard. GGG probably doesn't consider standard for their new league models. That would be about as pointless as using the build diversity in gauntlet to balance sc trade league.

Aiyo, that's why I diversify my risks by not only playing PoE!

The only ones that do have a "loss" are the guys hoarding currency and selling them 3rd party.

Otherwise you just lost some pixels.

A game should be fun! Challenging, frustrating or something, but never an "investment".

PoB is good but not the same as actually playing a build. I like a combo of both.
