New Support Gem: Unfocused Support (and a bit of a Channeling rework)

This gem allows you to move while channeling non-movement Focused Skills, in a similar way to Cyclone. The skill will target the enemy closest to you rather than where your mouse is pointing, and the skill will release when it reaches maximum stages if that would do something (like Blade Flurry, Incinerate, etc.).

This gem also divides Channeling skills into two types: Focused and Unfocused. Focused skills require you to be stationary while using them, while Unfocused skills allow you to move (Cyclone being the first of these) while using them.

Cyclone has always been a skill that had to be balanced around when it comes to any balance for Channeling skills. With this change, you can balance Focused and Unfocused skills separately, and create new Unfocused skills. It creates design space for new Channeling skills, and space for new nodes on the tree that previously had to take into account Cyclone's existence when balancing. For instance, Infused Channeling Support could have a much more powerful Less Damage modifier on the player if Cyclone and other Unfocused skills cannot be supported by it.

PoG. I want this in already.
+1 fun idea, nice work.
Innocence forgives you
Might be a really nice support gem to use - depending on gem values, of course. Too big of a '#% Less Damage' mod and I'm not sure it'd be worth. For example, high cast speed Divine Ire currently loses DPS due to having to manually press/hold/release/press again to do damage; given that this gem is already taking the place of a support gem (on average doing ~25-30% More Damage), if there's less damage on top of that, it would be a pretty big downside to the gem. If the clunky press-hold-release-press gameplay gets you 50% more damage overall with a different skill gem, that would probably be too rough to really consider using this gem unless you're already swimming in multi-millions of DPS.

Overall love the idea though!
^interesting take, although there are plenty of folks and builds that trade oodles of damage for QoL such as this support already.

In fact, some of the best meta builds ever generally trade 50% or even more damage potential for ease of use. All that damage is meaningless if the skill itself feels like crap to use (see Heavy Strike).

I know I'd instantly try tons of skills I have never played because they were channeling skills if I had this support, regardless of how much damage I lost. or at least if I could still push enough damage to comfortably clear endgame (not ubers).
Winter Orb would be quite cool with this support.

Incinerate and Flameblast also playable.
