Melee got buffed, easy extra link?
I don't see anyone talking about the unique gloves Meginords vise which now has "Melee Strike Skills deal Splash Damage to surrounding targets"
Isn't this BIS for strike skill builds? I play flicker so means I don't need ancestral call or splash support allowing an extra damage support. So melee got buffed if you don't mind knockback. Last bumped on Aug 15, 2022, 9:03:02 PM

the problem is, you're giving up an ENTIRE glove slot, to get some splash damage. because the rest of the mods on these gloves amounts to... 50 str. wooo
this competes with rare gloves that can get +1 strike from eldritch implicits, while having life/resist/attack speed/flat damage/etc etc etc |

Well I checked in pob for my strength stacking plan and vs mirror gloves I go from 37M DPS down to 35M dps (~6%DPS loss compared to mirror gloves). So until I've got a mirror it seems pretty BIS?

I think the main problem with the gloves is the knockback. I don't play flicker so it might not matter there but knockback is certainly NOT BIS for all strike skills.

Gloves is +2 strike targets, and knockback is absolutely vile especially if you attack fast.
Its a leveling unique for strikes before you get endgame gloves thats all really, kinda the same niche as before but its probably a tiny bit better. |

Reworked pob, forgot to switch in support gem when removing melee splash for flicker.
mirror tier gloves + melee splash gem = 39M DPS meginord + ruthless = 49M DPS. |

I never used melee splash outside of leveling. Even for the weeniest strike skills, ~2 extra targets was enough, and whatever else was part of my build's fancy light show was able to take out all the garbage mobs.

A Meginord's is always going to be good for strength stacking builds. It would be better to compare it on builds that don't strength stack, where is basically is only useful for QoL since you can swap in a different support gem if you really need the extra damage (takes 1 second).
