Im expecting an announcement of an announcement later this year that will announce that there will be an announcement in 2023 regarding POE2 release timeframe.
In 2023 Q1 GGG will announce EXILECON 2023 sometime in Nov/Dec where they will announce the release date for POE2 and POE mobile. POE 2 release date Q2 2024

" Yeaaaaa.... no. they absolutely care about D4, more then any other game for competition. Back when they were JUST ggg, they wouldn't need to care. A couple thousand paying players and they would have been fine. D4 drops, millions of copies sold and millions of players? Eh who cares, PoE has it's niche, it's loyal players and that's it. Except, that's not it. They took the devils deal. They took the one ring. With tencent buying in, PoE HAS to show growth every, single, year. And no, that's not growth just in players, that's growth in revenue, which is why we've had TWO battle passes so far as well as a re work of loot boxes. And with zero news on PoE 4.0 and D4 apparently gearing up for a 2023 release, either ggg has just taken a gigantic breath and is about to drop *all* the poe 4.0 news, or they're sweating bullets because they've realized they have nothing to show for poe 4.0. Why do you think loot 2.0 was pulled from 'whenever it's ready' to 'poe 2'? Because who the actual fuck cares about a new leveling story, leaving this gigantic, years in the making poe 2 to give us what, sockets moved to skill gems and spears? Many of us called it back when the tencent deal happened; Chris signed his own games death warrant. PoE CAN'T just 'exist' now, it has to continually show ranked improvement every quarter of every year, forever. Which means creating your game for anything other then the entire market doesn't work. Anyway, long rant over. Yes, they care about D4, because it will for sure draw in nearly every single PoE player. And I'll be proven right about them caring about D4 when it comes to release dates; we haven't heard about PoE 2 release and we won't UNTIL D4 has a solid release date. Then, miraculously and completely at random, PoE 2 will launch juuuuust a little bit after D4, in hopes of scooping up any of the stragglers. Cmon ggg, take my bait and prove me wrong, give us a PoE2 date >.> |

Just after Diablo 4, GGG are avoiding the hype and hoping it flops so they can scoop up the disgruntled.
