Increased critical strikes support gem on attack skill

Hello i have a question,

i want to try to use "Increased critical strikes support gem" on my Starforge sword with the skill "cyclone". Base crit of my sword is 5%, base crit of cyclone ( thanks to crit chance gem) 2%, additionally i get around 120% increased critical strike chance with cyclone thanks to the gem.
Lets say i also have 120% increased critical strike chance with swords via skill tree and 50% increased global critical strike chance via a item. What would my final chance to critical hit with my cyclone now be?

I do understand that 120% increased strike chance on 5% basecrit =11% crit.
But i don't understand how the crit chance gets calculated in this situation where two base crits come together (weapon and skill).

Could it be that the "Increased critical strikes support gem" is supposed to be used only on spells? I fear it really sucks on attack based skills.

Starforge base crit = 5%
crit chance gem base crit = 2%

Total base crit = 5+2=7%

1% increased critical strike chance off the base 7% is 7.07%
7% base crit + 120% increased critical strike chance = 15.40% crit chance
A good way to check potential upgrade for your build is to use Path of Building. You can import your character and try out different things to see the effect on your damage, life pool etc.
Thanks for the answers. I will try this path of building.
crit chance is pretty reliable on the stat screen in this case, if you open it and select the attack skill you are using it will have an accurate number aside from secondary bonuses like diamond flask or power charges - though you can check the number with these up as well.
