[April 12] Initial Development Manifesto Feedback
" Already posted shit like this way back, with slight differences. Axes should have bleed, rapiers a chance to ignore armour, maces a stackable armour crush, swords a parry that slows the enemies next attack, staves a chance to block. |

I liked the post regarding the future of desync. Thanks for posting.

The situation of medium/high maps its quite annoying.
I read some ideas and i just see 3 "fair" solutions to help the players keep doing maps. - Unique Boss, with 100% chance drop 1 map with the same level as the one that was opened. - Big Chest that just unlock after whole map is cleared, with 1 map with the same level as the one that was opened. - Increase the drop chance of medium/high maps and block the drop of maps 2-3 lvls under the currently opened. One of the three solutions seems pretty fair and would keep the players on the move, instead quit the game, as i see lots of people do nowadays. Cmon, its really annoying when you do a 72-74 map and all the maps that drop are 66-68. Last edited by sai25#5589 on Apr 17, 2013, 9:22:11 AM

For the meele problem. How about a damage reduction on hit gem, or an endurance charge on hit gem. the only real way to tank now is to have around 4-5 end charges and alot of life on hit.
Also can we get flasks that are higher then 53? and increase the health of life nodes? My friend is at 6k energy shield, im at 2500 health, He has to roll ES/%ES to get his survivablity, i have to roll armor/armor%/health to get mine. That or make armor due more. |

" Agreed. currently your forced to grind on 66-68 maps till you have a vault full of them (which is like a month of play) before you can safely try to put a run for your next few levels together. Higher level maps should average 1 higher level map per run, even if its a ton of lower level maps you can combine. It's like spending an exalted to get an augmentation orb. |

" I think you're starting from the wrong premises here... Why would GGG want you to keep doing maps? Especially high-level maps? I think it should be obvious by now that the map limitations are here not as an unpredicted flaw, but by design. What will you do when you reach 100 in a month of constant high-level mapping? Leave the game? Bad for GGG. placeholder for creative sig Last edited by Undon3#5633 on Apr 17, 2013, 11:16:33 AM

For the physical critical effect, might I suggest that they apply this to enemies:
Stagger: Damage dealt from a staggered character is reduced by 35%. It can have the same time length as shock, since it's not that powerful in comparison to other effects. This really solves a couple problems: melee gets a cool critical effect and more ability to survive for both themselves and their group. Plus, then dual wield characters can say they have so much swagger it makes the enemies stagger. |

As far as the desync problems... Sorry, but that's just bad programming. Any MMO on the market has the exact same client/server communication, and amazingly, most of them actually work correctly. And before anyone plays the "but.. ARPG not MMO!" card - it doesn't matter. This game isn't sending anything more than any MMO on the market. Hell, I'll even raise the bar... Eve Online has battles involving upwards of 1000 players all in the same place moving, fighting, using different systems, etc, and does not have these kinds of desync problems. Heck, even WoW has 40 person raids with mechanics that need to be just as fast as anything in this game.. such as spell interrupts, avoiding attacks and healing in time to keep people alive. I'm afraid the desync potion of the manifesto struck me as kind of trying to make an excuse why the problem exists, but there really isn't an excuse when so many other games have been doing it correctly for years.

" You are technically correct. They have their own horrifying variants of synchronization troubles. They have what amounts to a supercomputer and it still buckles and gets crushed by the swarms of players. |

" The problem here is the way players are trying to play. Why would you be at 100 in a month? There are alts to make, there are races to participate in, and there are random maps to explore. For that matter why would you be at 60+ within three months of open beta? LOL We have to remember more acts are going to come out eventually, the maps are just a stop gap place holders, they aren't "end game" they are "you are too far too quick, here do this till we are ready for you!". |
