This option has been in game since maybe 2014,. so now i ask for an explanation I just get people guessing what could be happening,. that's not what i call fun it's incredibly frustrating and has pissed me off

To be fair you are asking about a very niche thing that not a lot of people do. In fact I completely forgot Einhar could do this until you mentioned it.
