All of the above.

Even better - make it base PoE v1.0 (I'm disregarding v0.9.x)
And then have mods to choose on top.
e.g. "enable multiproj Voidbearers"
or "enable desync" or "angry Rogue Exiles chase you down the beach".

I wouldn't, as PoE did not start with a rich world that was then expanded by remote expansion area sets that moved the game experience away from the original feel. PoE just got fatter, but we all end up still playing the atlas. And if you want to go further back, to before the atlas, you have a less fun story mode and that's it.

Going back in PoE is more like a question to figure out which state of PoE one likes the most and we'd never come to an agreement on what that actually is.

Not the game for a classic mode, imo.

Haha PoE classic, where you could dodge a vaal oversoul smash with whirling blades, only to desync, and rubber band back to your death.

Or be cycloning away, hit a pebble, which stopped your spinning and you died. (Or a wall, doorway, or literally anything)

Although the joy of finding a Lioneye Bow, Shavs, Koam, or any of other other rare chase items, has become a hard thing to replace. Now most of the joy is currency or div card drops... which is pretty meh to me.

Good luck getting anything close to consensus on what POE Classic actually is.

if it has desync, then no. otherwise sure why not. bring back race seasons while you're at it (yeah i know they're never gonna do it)
