Reduce UI animations just doesnt work

The reduce UI animations setting in options just doesn't work, I click it in options to activate it and when I go back into options its just unchecked. I'm on xbox series x but idk if that really matters, no other setting seems to do this aside from that one (I can enable/disable screen shake no problem which is the setting right below reduce UI animations)
