Will items and currency items carry over to POE 2?

I think their point is that they expect six (five actually?) socketed gems to be the norm which might be why they've been more willing to introduce ways to get six linked items as part of the rebalancing.

Unless i missed something i very much doubt they'd transfer everybody's standard stash to the new game. The economy would be ruined day 1 and completely defeats the purpose of starting a new game

did i miss something crucial or something? poe 2 and poe 1 are two sepperate games, you still can play poe1 just as it is and it will still get regular new leagues, none of your characters will be in poe2, they reworked all the currency, some of it wont even exist anymore and some that are considered rare will be alot more common, some unique items have completly changed and wont work like they work in poe1.
so for OP you still will be just fine playing poe1 the way you want to, but nothing but the mtx/stashes will be transfered to poe2, unless like i said, i missed something crucial

This is literally the best thing - starting purely fresh in a game that you know nothing about, and most of the players are in the same boat as you

Transferring/converting items from PoE1 to PoE2 was something they intended to do when PoE2 was still meant to be an extension of PoE1, with a shared endgame. Since they decided to completely separate the two games, there is no longer the need to carry over anything, and so nothing of the sort will happen.

PoE 2 is a complete fresh start for everyone as far as items are concerned. MTX you have in your account will be usable in both games, but that's it. No items, currency or otherwise, will carry over.

No, items and currency you have in POE 1 will NOT carry over to POE 2.

POE 2 is different game, the only thing that carry over is MTX (Cosmetic items and Stash Tabs you purchased).

That would be like asking if you could carry over gear and items you got in Baldur's gate 2 into Baldur's Gate 3.

damn bruh, i was so absolutly mindboggled when reading the comments, thinking i swapped universe or something until you mentioned the date xD havent even noticed it, atleast now it makes sense how they so confidently were able to say yes everything carrys over
